Hmm, having to send the monitor back for a firmware update will be a right pain. Currently the lack of AMA when connected to a freesync card isn't too much of a problem so I might just not bother but I wonder what effect it would have on the resale value of the monitor if I don't get it done.
So who's fault is it that these Freesync screens are all back at the factory getting fixed?
Hello Badass
I've done the tests above and used the camera on my phone ,
Now @ 120hz i see white bars /lines coming across the screen, vertically, as i turn up the intensity they get faster
and @ 144hz i see black bars/lines coming across the screen vertically , also as the intensity is turned up the line move faster
Monitor setting i've used are 2560x1440 Blur reduction on with Area 0 and intensity @ 7 moving the setting upwards
I dont think that i may have done this right but i've tried everything you have suggested and i can only see the bars moving as ive said above ,,, sorry This probably hasn't help out ,but i though i would give it ago anyway .
Thanks
I'm not badass though.
Can you take a pursuit camera picture of the movement on the testufo page as you change "Area"?

I have a pixel thin vertical line that infrequently shows up and extends the entire height of the the screen and goes away with a small tap to the back of the monitor... should i be concerned and try to get this fixed ASAP? I've owned this monitor a little over a month, purchased from newegg. Will it be covered?
If i was you i would contact BenQ support and as them , that doesn't sound to be to good , maybe a loose connection somewhere.
Dose this happen when in every day use ?
I contacted BenQ support a few weeks ago and they where very helpful to me and even offered a RMA if my problem wasn't sorted out.
he's talking nonsense about blur reduction working with FreeSync. someone in the chain there is mistaken. The firmware update only updates the FreeSync/AMA bug. It's likely he was talking about the firmware update allowing FreeSync to work with AMA which is the overdrive circuit, which is what it was designed to do. not the blur reduction mode though.
i'm still just waiting on clarification from BenQ about their position in Europe/UK for handling updates but i'm 99% certain it will involve the user sending the screen back to BenQ to have it done. will find out asap for everyone
You were right, Badass. I got my monitor back a few days ago and have been trying everything out and Freesync does not work with Blur Reduction. Honestly, if the AMA bug was fixed... I can't notice a difference. Everything seems to be working fine with my monitor regardless. I pulled up the service menu on my monitor and my Firmware version is: V00220150424. I don't even know if that is an updated Firmware.
@Baddass
Seeing as some people seem to be getting the FW "reflash" does this mean all the OCUK stock of these are now fixed ? Or is there any service menu to see f/w version (to check if he display has the fix)
i've no idea if the OcUK stock is the updated version or not. i know BenQ were intending to recall stock in supply and -resitribute new version but not sure whether that's happened or not. you'd probably need to check with the shop
there is a factory menu in the OSD but as yet ive not had confirmation as to whether you can identify new vs old firmware in there. I'm still presssing BenQ for a response to be honest
