True, however, there is no reason why they can't make an announcement to at least let people know what they are doing.

I doubt there is ANY communication between sales/marketing and their driver/firmware teams in Taiwan, let alone between the latter in Taiwan and the former in Europe. If they had information they'd likely give it. In reality, I suspect they'll know when the new firmware pops up on their internal repositories.

i can assure you there is :) I've seen conversations between UK/Europe teams and Taiwan teams and have been speaking to both since the issue was identified. I know they are working on an annoucement regarding new firmware, but these things are a bit tricky as they need to determine how best to handle updates etc. i'm still waiting on clarification on the whole thing but as soon as i get it i will post the update here :)

This is good news ,and thanks to you for keeping us all update with the current situation;)

First off I am new to the forums and with that being said I do own a Benq XL2730Z as well. In reference to a new firmware update to the monitors, I have recently been in contact with Benq in the US and there is a new firmware update. According to the supervisor in the tech department, he told me about the firmware update that came out about a week or so ago and even though I couldn't find any information out about it on the internet, he assured me it is available and it allows blur reduction to work with Freesync enabled. He approved my RMA and I am sending my monitor off tomorrow so they can install the firmware update. I do not want to spread any misinformation, but if we have it available in the states... surely it is available at all Benq locations around the world.

Can someone verify this?

he's talking nonsense about blur reduction working with FreeSync. someone in the chain there is mistaken. The firmware update only updates the FreeSync/AMA bug. It's likely he was talking about the firmware update allowing FreeSync to work with AMA which is the overdrive circuit, which is what it was designed to do. not the blur reduction mode though.

i'm still just waiting on clarification from BenQ about their position in Europe/UK for handling updates but i'm 99% certain it will involve the user sending the screen back to BenQ to have it done. will find out asap for everyone
