I think Bell will work it out. I don't know why, I just feel he can still make a difference. Gary Ballance though, rightfully dropped I think. His vulnerabilities were becoming too easily exploited. Lyth doesn't particularly convincing as a solid opener, however it wouldn't have been sensible to make too many changes at once. All this talk of moving Root up to bat at 3- why not move Moeen up to open with Cook instead of Lyth if he doesn't find form- he's a top order batsman at Worcestershire so he knows how to bat at the top. And then get Rashid in as the main spinner and bat at 7.
