Metal Gear Solid. The Phantom pain.

I have only just now unlocked the legendary gunsmith... I wish I had got him a lot sooner!

I hope they patch a fix for that somehow. The way side ops are handled needs improving.

I think the Quiet plotline was the only good part of the game tbh, the game is a mess, especially chapter 2 onwards.

I would happily trade knowing the fates of Solid Snake, Otacon etc. for closure on what happens to Quiet, and to think I really disliked her character at first glance... Then her story arc becomes the only thing I push through the missions/side ops to experience, then bam, disappears. Dead, or off into exile to stop the parasites spreading? We'll never know...

I thought she was the most interesting character in the game.
Its a shame she just walks into the dessert then nothing not even a note before the credits to say what happened to her unlike with the rest of the characters. I have to admit she was hard to take seriously because of the way she was dressed. I'm sure motherbase R&D could have come up with a solution for her to wear clothes Huey was another one that I wanted to see resolved. Was he really a bad guy or was he completely innocent like he claims?
I think that they had more that they were going to put into the game but due to the budget skyrocketing and the potential of having to delay the game Konami said no and I think that's the reason Kojima and Konami fell out.
They cut a major mission out for gods sake.
I would rather they had delayed the game another year and completed it fully then leave it the way it is.
Don't get me wrong I enjoyed every minute of it but the story was only so so and it started off so well in ground zeros in my opinion

Got sucked in by the 10s and wasted £30 on this.

A fair few people are saying this. Genuine question did you just look at the scores or did you read/watch any video reviews first?

Because the reviews and videos should tell/show you all you need to know.
Its why I take scores with a pinch of salt

Yeah when she was first shown on the trailers and when I first met her in game I didn't like her at all, and then, despite never saying a word (until like the last 5% of the story) her character grew on me completely. The way her and Venom bonded so strongly aswell without ever speaking a word, and how words ended up being what drove them apart, it's pretty powerful, just a shame the rest of the story was horsecack! :D

The general census between fans aswell is that her speaking English triggered the parasite Skullface put in her to become active, meaning she wandered off to die alone to avoid infecting Snake and the Diamond Dogs. :/

Huey is a sociopath, it's confirmed in other MGS games by his son that he was a terrible person.

I agree that the game was clearly rushed, it feels like 5 years was spent on on Chapter 1, and 5 weeks was spent on Chapter 2 :p though ironically the best part of the game was in Chapter 2.

There's about as many haters as there is lovers of this game, it isn't a 10/10 title, I'm enjoying the game and yes you have to give it time but it's far from a masterpiece, in places it's pretty dull but I want to get my money's worth. Would I pay £34 knowing what I know now, no I wouldn't.

You kidding right? £34 isn't bad for what we got in MGS 5. Granted the story is messed up a bit but the game itself is well worth the price. Me personally, it was money well spent. Each to their own I guess.

Was going to reply to the guy who said he wasted £30 on MGGS 5.......however can't be bothered, can't please everyone I guess.

From what I've played so far (6 hours-ish) it's been fantastic but I can already tell it's going to get on the rather monotonous side the more I play it.

review's didn't mention poor map, boring repetitive missions, rubbish enemy AI.. Good game at sub £20.

Last night I did a mission to Capture a bear - Which I did by sticking a balloon on him.

My next mission was to take out various vehicles driving around within a 15 minute time limit, which were spread over a large playing area inc various bases which were hard to avoid because of the time constraint.

I managed to plant C4 on various parts of the road and use an inflatable pop up decoy to stop vehicles in their tracks when I ran out of C4 and had to resort to using my rocket launcher.

Whilst this was happening I was getting updates on the radio asking me to save a hostage being transported in a jeep, and steal a weapon from a moving truck (which turned out to be another natty Rocket launcher)

Next side op, I was asked to take out some Heavy weapons - which turned out to be 5 troops and a tank. I managed to put all the troops to sleep and fulton them away, then I thought I would try and to the same thing to the manned tank - And it worked! Sneaked up and whisked it in to the sky.

To me, none of the above is repetitive - Game says I am 20% complete.

I think it's fantastic.

The reviews I read didn't make a great deal of sense. They were picking out flaws in the game but still gave it 10/10. How does that work?

I think it's only getting perfect scores due to the fact that it's MGS and Kojima's last game (I think!)

Kojima has always said after every MGS game thats its his last one.

As an artist, he should know that his so called masterpiece has some flaws that need fixing. So now that Konami can see how well MGS 5 is doing across the globe I wouldn't be suprised if they crawl on their hands and knees to Kojima asking him to comeback for more.

Besides, I'm certain Kojima and Konami said they wanted to redo Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2(not Solid) in the Fox Engine.

Excluding the side ops, how many story missions does the game have? I'm onto mission 13 and so far I don't seem to have scratched the surface.
