I can't imagine being that not fat. Wish I weighed 75kg.

I am up at 62KG on this super easy week for my test and I feel like an actual whale. Weight is serious business, I utterly hate it and the mental crap that comes along with it all

Yeah, the mental part of it is hard!

I've flatlined at 67kg, and I can't get past. I feel like if I break past it, getting to 60kg is going to be fairly ok. Not that easy, but easier than getting from 67 to 66.

Well hello there...

This is why I like hill climbs but will never be good at them. I thought I was light and decent at climbing hills till I did some open hill climbs last year - I'm built like Schwarzenegger compared to those guys despite looking like a spindly twig compared to the national average. :p

I don't have the inclination or desire to lose another 3-4kgs.

I've had this in the past. Usually it's after a few days of riding without eating enough (i.e. when I'm on a cut).

I've had it happen once or twice completely randomly too. Always worrying but I'm sure you'll be fine in a day or so :)

I think it was a combination of not really eating great for the past few days and jetlag finally catching up with me! Had a good 12 hours sleep last night though! Game face back on for tomorrow.

lol, yes, that's true but not driving to work ;) :D

nope, not yet! my knee is totally gone :o the days I'm not cycling are the days I'm not at work :o
Ahh, things going well with grudas+1 then! ;)

You still feel your knee even with the reduced riding? More gym work or less? Long term injury/damage? Poor Laimis riding on his own! :( :p

Rule 5.

Although tomorrow is meant to be horrific here, low temps, 30-40 mph north winds (freezing!) with rain and snow to start the day. Fingers crossed Sunday is much better (10mph winds, few degrees warmer and no rain). I need to get out for a 35/40 mile (minimum) else I'll not even be near my current weekly target (70 miles) and will be stalling my build in preparation for the 57 mile (+24) sportive in just over 4 weeks! :o

So today+tomorrow = rest days. Sunday = no excuses! Except I'm out for a friends birthday saturday night... Will follow FT's guidance and ride with a hangover! ;)

I'm off to Skye for 5 days. No riding for me. Though I've exceeded my 50 miles a week target. I should probably up that a bit now...

yup, even went as far as asking work to officially allow me to work from home every wednesday.. that'd break up the cycling and give me some rest :o and I can't deal with public transport, driving is too expensive and time consuming..

he hasn't been riding much more than me tbh xD illness, had to leave uk in an emergency due to family etc.. mad month :o

I'm wondering: Does anyone here have a protein shake after being on the turbo? I had a discussion with one of the guys at work, and he thinks that my lead legs could be down to a lack of protein, especially after exercise. To be honest, I think my protein is a bit low based on IIFYM levels to lose weight. I do my turbo session in the morning before breakfast. It's usually around 1 hour in length.

I was lying in bed last night, and my thigh muscles were actually twitching. That can't be good right...

Yeah, it is a tough one for sure, being stick thin and silly low BF% is perfection for steep climbing but reality is that it's useless for racing in the UK at competitive level really. Climbing alpine passes on a stage race for weeks, skinny minnie makes sense but here in the UK for weekend racing etc, it's beneficial but also quickly becomes a negative.

Come HC season end of the year, that's when I will properly drop the weight, last year was down at 58/59KG but was lifting weights a lot and was too bulky. For National HC etc it wil be necessary to be a twig, but no point being at that point for the majority of summer season.

This all does my head in, the mental side of weight, it really does!

If I can get to 70Kg this year I'll be pleased. That's as far as I can imagine going. That'd be lighter than I've been in... I don't know... 15 years. Fingers crossed riding to work every day (that it's not snowing) will sort me out.

I'm off to Skye for 5 days.
Enjoy!

mad month :o
Hope it's all sorted soon mate, especially the knee :(

and based on recent Canyon form, which one have they sent you?
Or who's!

I attempted to make my own shakes, they were nice but the quantities of frozen/fresh fruit they were using I figured it was cheaper to buy whey. Having just finished my first tub (Powerbar Lion Bar, it's lush!) I've now bought another (Powerbar Chocolate, bit cheaper). I previously didn't take anything after turbo work and I would say now my legs feel fresher the day afterwards and the '2 day' fatigue backlog which used to come from a turbo session is much reduced. I'm unaware if that's due to the protein input, my increased fitness and easier commuting. But I won't stop the shakes now! ;)

I get leg twitches in the night after any big/hard ride. Will occasionally kick the mrs' or wake myself up lol :o:p

EDIT: Planning this for sunday if the time allows. Several options to cut the loop short and head home if time/legs/hangover win's over my resolve. It'll familiarise me with several roads/climbs of the sportive regardless.
