Well, after 36 hrs I'm blown away by this phone. Battery life is phenominal compared to the s6 it replaces!
I've had the device for a few days now and there really is only one main criticism that I can say about it. It's something I noticed right after I powered it up for the first time.
The display is using pulse width modulation (PWM) to control the brightness level of the display, my eyes can see it most noticeably when the keyboard is present and the screen brightness is set anywhere below 70ish%. If you take a photograph of the screen with a high enough shutter speed, you'll also see evidence within the photo.
PWM pulses the display on and off rather than directly controlling the power to the display to control the brightness, it's a more efficient method of controlling brightness and saves battery power, but it's not great for the eyes. If the number of cycles per second is high enough, it can become pretty much invisible to the eye, not the case here though. Appears that the S6 had a PWM frequency of 240hz, if I could find my homemade PWM measuring tool, I'd run a few tests to see how it compares.
It's not bugging me too much but it's still a bit annoying, this is the first time I've ever noticed this with a phone before.
I'm absolutely loving my S7 Edge but I'm having an issue sending long text messages. When they get to a certain length the app says 'converting to MMS'. Sometimes it will send but other times it just hangs there. I have a message from 14.00 today that still hasn't sent!
I read something on the Vodafone site that said you need to have Wi-Fi turned off in order for these kinds of messages to work. Is that correct?
An MMS is a bit of a cheat, it's sort of like an E-mail sent to a server/gateway (e.g. mms.vodafone.co.uk) over an internet connection which can be either wifi > your home internet connection or via the Radio Access Network (RAN) e.g. the stuff over the air to towers. You don't need Wi-Fi on but it will be quicker.I read something on the Vodafone site that said you need to have Wi-Fi turned off in order for these kinds of messages to work. Is that correct?

SMS convert to MMS is a Samsung trait iirc, quickest fix is usually to not use their SMS app :/
My Spigen F300W wireless charger arrived today.

Looks smart and works well through the Spigen Neo Hybrid case. At its current rate of charge, I estimate it would take around 3.5 hours to complete a charge from empty.
I also bought on of theses chargers & while very nice & it does the job, it is very slow wireless charging.
I have a fast wireless charger & its show this device up as a slow charger.
Have you found the same?
I have not conducted a full test of it, however I estimated it to take around 3.5 hours to fully charge from empty. Seems about right when you factor in the efficiency of the wireless charger, it is delivering a charge of roughly 1amp to the battery.
I'll try and run it a full test, it's difficult as there is never really a good time to do so.
It won't be long until these phone accessory manufactures will be knocking out 15W wireless chargers for 10 a penny.
Samsung fast wireless charging stand arrived today. been out most of the evening so not had a proper run with it yet but I can confirm now why it costs so much. It comes with an official adaptive fast charging plug and USB cable whereas last year's pad version did not.
