*** The Official HTC 10 Thread ***

I like the look of it tbh I really liked the M7 but they went off the boil after that. Glad to see the dreadful on screen buttons have gone and they gone back to proper ones.

you can guarantee one thing this phone will be fast and smooth and have no lag, my brothers M8 is so smooth. I might even get one to try it and see which I prefer from this to my S7 edge.

If they have nailed the camera department they could be on to a winner.

I don't get why people are saying its overpriced ? its the same specs as the competition with some nice enhancements. It will be interesting to see how the boom sound set up is with the tweeter the top and a sort of sub woofer at the bottom.

Another plus side is how developer friendly HTC is compared to Samsung. Rooting and flashing custom ROMs on my M7 was as easy as a Nexus device, which allowed me to squeeze extra life out of the phone before I became fed up of it. Overall, assuming reviews go well and HTC hasn't messed up somewhere, it will be a very strong competitor against the S7.

Branding yO! ;) :p

Looks nice to me. I've never owned a HTC but have always quite liked the design, I was going to consider last years model until it was actually revealed and things such as the camera were disappointing. Nice to see they've done a decent job this year, happy with my S7 but if I didn't have that I'd consider one of these.

Looks like team venom will be on the case soon! :D

Does anybody know If very.co.uk will have this up for pre-order anytime soon?
I know they're currently offering 20% off for new customers on their first credit order, which would take it down to a more enticing £456

Otherwise I guess i'll take advantage of the 10% discount code at htc.com and get it for £512

I guess this one looks a little better than the hugely underwhelming m9, but still could do better.

It's just not up there with the s7 and the price is comparable, so which one will most people buy?

And here lies htc's problem.

Exactly my thoughts. If I had to choose this or S7 I'd go for this BUT the vast majority of people would go for the S7. Samsung just have ttoo big a market share so HTC pricing this the same as the S7 is a silly decision.

Regardless of specs etc. Both have their strengths and weaknesses, I would say the main stand out advantage of the S7 flat (similar price) is the water resistance.

A large number of people will go with the Samsung because it is the bigger brand and see it as the better brand, Samsung are like apple in the android world.

The HTC one M7 was hailed as being the better phone overall compared to the gs 3/4 (can't remember which) yet the m7 still sold nothing in comparison to Samsung.

Marketing & brand power is a big part in companies success.

It is why companies spend millions and if able to, billions on it and make sure that not only are they getting lots of advertising on TV, newspapers, bill boards, product placements in films, tv shows etc. etc. but that the advertising quality is top notch.

Well HTC's old tag line was "Quietly Brilliant".
Whilst they dropped that slogan it looks like the 10 could be Quietly Brilliant but I hope it sells well for HTC, If its as good as its looking and sounding.

The discount cannot be used with other codes or on the following ranges: All Apple products, audio, gaming,
computers, projectors, tablets, sale items, Financial Services products and delivery charges.

I can't see how it'd be included in that 20% offer.

I'll probably get this when my upgrade is due in a few months. I bought a 2nd hand galaxy S6 when my HTC m8 went off for a warranty repair (which, at the time, I wasn't sure would be even covered) when the HTC came back a few weeks later, I ended up swapping back to it and selling the S6 which wasn't the plan at all. The camera is much better on the S6 and the fingerprint scanner very nice/welcome but apart from that, I much prefer the HTC m8 mainly because of the software. It's just a much nicer phone to use IMO.

I'm kinda glad that happened really because otherwise, I might have gone with the S7 at upgrade time.
