European Grand Prix 2016, Baku - Race 8/21

as for the job, sounds cool a.f. I'd probably love to do it if i was single, but with a missus and kids i don't think i could - presumably you spend a lot of time away from home? (edit- where do I sign up?)
 
As Canada and Baku were a week apart I have been away for 2 weeks already. Flew straight from Montreal to Baku. I will get home Monday , off for 4 days then fly to Austria on Saturday.

I do have a gf but the job puts a lot of stress on the relationship. But in my eyes I couldn't turn the experience down and took the opinion that she will adapt or not, if not then so be it.

Install the telemetry / video transmission system around track. Someone has to drive round and make sure it's all working and transmitting. So everyone at home can get the sweet on board footage we all love.

That's cool. But please tell them to turn the car sound up a notch or two :)
 
When next to the track they are proper noisy things and there are a huge amount of microphones around track.

But for some reason it just does not come across on tv what so ever.

Track looks good, Baku looks a nice place

Crofty is grating on me big time now, try's to make a massive issue out of any little thing, gets things wrong continuously and is generally annoying!!

I'd love to tell you about Baku but I haven't finished at the circuit any earlier than 8:30pm all this week.

But what I have seen is that there is a lot of money being spent here and I quite like it. The hotel is really nice and I haven't heard many bad things said about it by my colleagues.

I was highly skeptical about the track before this week, even more so after seeing that lame track preview, but come this weekend, its actually looking quite good, ok so its a little rough around the edges and they are still working out the bugs, but it looks a good track and a lovely looking city.
Too early to say for sure what the racing will be like.

Does anyone know how many years baku contracted for? one off? multi year?
 
Aren't people going to be going off and having to reverse loads in the race?

Will really punish mistakes as you lose a lot of time.

Crofty sounds very bored with the whole thing or he's just lost the plot.
 
Oh no Perez right at the end, FI will be cursing him :(

I must say I really like Karun Chandhoks input on the C4 coverage.
