European Grand Prix 2016, Baku - Race 8/21

Where I work should have no influence on what forums I use or what I am enthusiastic about. I don't work for any of the teams but the broadcast side of the operation.

As a result when sessions are on i am more a spectator. My work bringing you entertainment goes on before and after many of these sessions!

Hmm, Seriously? I find it bizarre a person who works for F1 would be posting on a forum such as here. No disrespect to OcUK but the fact somebody would be so busy on a schedule like that to have time for here.

What a bizzare thing to say? Are you tryign to suggest hes making it up?

From memory we have a Williams employee, McLaren employee and a Red Bull employee who are regulars on here.

Bizarre thing to say? How so? Lots of people say they are things that they are not. I'm not implying he/she is or isn't but what is usually said online isn't always truthful. I simply don't have a great deal of trust in people online and it has been proven.

I just thought it was strange to be in a network of such people to be amongst your average joe. Interesting if that is the case.

Like the music and film industry always mingling with their own niche group.

Rosberg stopped on track, please let it be a karma engine swap. ;)

It might simply have been his first engine. He's moved to the second but in general if the previous engine hasn't blown up they'll use the old engine on a Friday to get the most qualify/race life out of the current one.

His first one would be fairly old though and it's possible it was the current engine that had something happen, more likely to be the first though.

I'm jealous. Very!

Closest tie I have to F1 is the company I work for are affiliated with Williams somehow. I believe we may even do a bit of Carbon fibre/composite work for them.

Yea I work for FOM.
Install the telemetry / video transmission system around track. Someone has to drive round and make sure it's all working and transmitting. So everyone at home can get the sweet on board footage we all love.

So that's part of what I do!

Did you apply for that when they advertised it in Autosport magazine a few years back? I remember seeing the same advert a couple of years running for a track telemetry technician.

Actually I applied for it this February through an agency but it wasn't publicly advertised as FOM.

I found out the company when I got offered an interview.

Jester is exactly the sort of person I expect on this board.
After all ocuk customers are likely to be males who are interested in computers and are reasonably successful financially.

I know a few people who have worked in f1 it's a big industry employing thousands of people.

Jesters job sounds like fun and I am a bit jealous. :)
I'd love to do that for a year or two.
