"The White House has said that US President Barack Obama stands by comments he made that Britain would move to the "back of the queue" for trade talks in the event of a British exit from the EU, Reuters news agency reports.

Mr Obama made the comments in a visit to the UK in April."

"Credit ratings agency Moody's has changed its outlook on the UK's sovereign rating from "stable" to "negative". "

Well those scripted words he read out then seem to have changed today. So the guaranteed credit downgrade has actually been changed to a negative outlook. That is quite a come down from yesterday. The financial markets price things in very quickly and haven't changed much today.

The issue is, everything in the financial market is assigned to perceived value and the accompanying perceived risk.

The collective mindset is currently one of high risk remaining for some time. Likely until we agree some fundamental terms with the EU (and potentially beyond)

Until that time, mortgages rates will rise.

Poor Alex, in so much pain over plebs stopping remain from winning and from getting his own way, the only way he can soothe it is trying (and failing) to scare them that mortgage rates will rise.

Q on money.

I have cash I want to put in to a bond. Should I rush to do it now or wait to see what happens?

---

On the flip side, I could put the money towards a property. I guess I need to wait and see what will happen with house prices and mortgages.

No it didn't. It was 60/40, that is absolutely not overwhelming. There is a sizeable proportion of Scots who voted leave.

If only you were right - overwhelming support would have been enough for remain to win.

You're assuming there were no Scots voting tactically - voting Brexit so that the UK leaves and Scotland can push for independence on the back of it.

Time will tell what the real sentiment is in Scotland. I suspect much will depend on how open the EU's arms are for welcoming an independent Scotland to the fold.

still feel gutted and like we've completely shot ourselves in the foot

I forsee a number of very very tough years

for what ? will it really be worth it ?

was it that bad before ?

Your rhetoric is incorrect. I'm not (personally) in any pain, bar some losses on the stock market.

I feel more for those that are currently on the edge of their own financial stability and may lose out as a result of today's referendum.

Following discussions with numerous people who are well versed on the subject, I am confident that the prediction of rising mortgage rates will reign true.

The real sadness is the pride you feel when you sit upon your high horse.

Buy euros. Soon we'll be wiping our bums with £20 notes.

There are too few voters plus the turn out was low for any tactics like that.

We have a Scot at work and he was saying no one he knows from his area were voting in. So there are definitely areas that want out up there. I don't think an independence vote is as predictable as the fish woman thinks it is.

Are none of you leavers sad that this could ultimately be the end of the UK if we lose Scotland and Northern Ireland over it? Or do you not care?

I'd be sad if they chose to leave. If they get one I wish them all the best in their future whether it be with us or with the EU.

For Scotland however, I have to wonder how many referendums the SNP are going to want over the next decade if the second one doesn't give them the answer they want. Does anyone believe they would accept the second result if it didn't align with their goals?
Then again, as people are going to point out, much has changed with the recent referendum result, who knows how a new Scottish referendum would play out. Though it would be interesting to see someone who constantly mentioned 'that blind leap into the dark' then argue to make a similar leap.

Seeing as the UK makes up almost 13% of the EU population, I don't think Obama really thought it through properly.

My size 13s are fine, what happened to your feet? Got cold?

nope- I was quite happy with Status Quo and voted remain

I could see a chance of some possible future benefits voting leave - but the negatives VASTLY outweighed the positives

will be very very annoyed if the whole country is brought down by a slim majority

its not like its a general election and you just have to "bare it" for a while - this is permanent - and IMO a MASSIVE mistake
