Pokemon GO! (2016)

I've just started having this weird issue with PM Go, when I launch the game my network signal drops completely and fails to sign in, then it reconnects and signs in without issue. It didn't do this before, and I have even factory reset my Nexus 6 but it's still doing it.

The phone never drops network signal other than when I start the app, and it happens every time now :(

EDIT: Having done some digging this appears to be an issue with the Nexus 6 that Google are looking into. The radio cycles itself when any app tries to get a GPS lock. That's me out of action until it's fixed :(

Thank god for that.

Is it wrong to wait for people to defeat high level gyms, put their own in there, walk off without training, after which I snoop in and take it over.

Did it twice tonight, but timing was in my favour; I barely waited a couple of minutes.

Yes, of course it's wrong. Everyone knows that what you're supposed to do is wait for someone to defeat a gym and then put your own in while they're healing their dudes to put one in :D.

Tbh, noobs using defense specced pokemon to attack deserve to be sniped :p

Happened to me yesterday. I defeated a gym, and whilst I was healing, someone else put their guy in it!

You are doing it wrong.

Favourite your defensive pokemon purely for Gyms, keep these aside, you don't attack with them ever, and heal them once defeated.

This way you are never faffing around healing and getting sniped.

I always laugh when people claim it's wrong that those who stick a pokemon up on a recently defeated gym is wrong. Err it's not against the game rules so either hurry up or have a mate waiting in the wings to pick it up the second it goes down.

I keep meaning to try my Chancey in a gym, I haven't worked out the IV's but could be quite good for defending. She is only CP357 with attacks of 12 & 55 so nothing great there but she has 304 HP.

I don't know of any website or anything though to advise on defence or attack. Though it is a little pointless considering how easy it is to take over a gym.

Gyms around here change hands so often (small groups of kids) a lot of them don't get time to level up so any pokemon is thrown in just to cash out. I keep one aside for this purpose

If you have time and friends with you, it's best for the lower level ones to go on first so it's easier to level the gym up and put better ones on.

Even the more remote ones by me change every time I go past. I don't see how anyone can hold a gym for days when effectively anyone attacking has a 6 v 1 advantage.

With the low level I have seen a gym change hands every minute or so for about 15 minutes. As every time it got taken over the Pokémon left to defend was low level. So either boosting XP for or just a group of players quickly taking it to cash out for the day.

I know I can and I have done so on some of the rare ones but cba to do so for every single Pokemon. If I ever get another Chancey maybe I will to help decide which one to keep but for now, meh.

Edit: Actually clicking that link, Chancey is apparently the best to defend a gym with. Maybe I will have to work the IV's and use some dust to level it up some more.

Edit 2: So my Chancey is around 70% on IV's apparently. Not great but I suppose 70% of the best defence is better than having 90% IV's on a rubbish defence Pokémon.

Cool.

I have a few of the ones listed towards the top of that list. Snorlax (400cp), Lickitung (78cp), Electrobuz (300CP), Jolteon(650cp). So all fairly low CPs. I'll bear the list in mind if I manage to get any of them at a higher CP.

Yeah at 400cp, you are no where near having a fighting chance at gyms.

What level are you? If you aren't above level 20, I would completely forget about being on multiple gyms. Fight a low one, cash in for the coins, work on getting more of those Eevee's.

Nice to see my Lapras with Ice Shard/Ice Beam isn't as bad as it once was pre patch (along with my Confusion Slowbros and Bubble Poliwrath), shame having good gym defenders is pointless though :D.

Anyone seen the blog post by Niantic about disabling the bots and trackers? It appears to show that server load dropped by 66% when they made the change, but the graph has no scale so no idea if that's actually the case or not. It could be the same as when you see graphs posted by nVidia/AMD where the graph starts at 90 and goes to 100 making it look like there's a much bigger difference than there actually is.

Hopefully they update that because having the scale missing is pretty suspicious imo.
