Who owns a 350z/370z?

I wouldn't stress too much about mileage on these, many have them with 100k+ and no issues, yes it's a performance car but from reading around they're very reliable.

Yeah I've seen cars with really crazy mileage on them and they are totally bulletproof. The main issue with the higher mileage cars is the fronts of these are terrible for picking up stone chips, and the paint is well known to be fairly rubbish - which means ones that have spent a lot of their time on the motorway get quite peppered!

That said, you are looking at cars - most of which are approaching 10 years old now ... none of them are going to be perfect and they will all be somewhat of a lottery, even the tidy looking ones. I'd go for one that looks mechanically solid, save some cash on the initial purchase and if you want it really mint - spend the money tidying up the few jobs that'll need doing.

2 years ago, may 2014 I bought a 2007 350z HR, with 27k on he clock, one owner from new, stamped every year by Nissan, with brand new discs all round. I paid £10,100.

I just sold it, around a month ago, with 44k on the clock, for £10,100..

Admittedly with a spare set of OEM alloys sprayed Bronze (I paid £500 for them off the 350z forum with nearly New winter tyres), also had the addition of a cobra resonated back box...

Aside the high running costs of these cars, I.e everything coats £500!, I was rather happy with the lack of depreciation

I'd just get a tidy 276HP one for £6500~ and spend a bit of money getting it to the 300 mark, breathing mods, Kinetix manifold etc.

If I recall correctly those engines are less prone to using oil as well?

10K seems like an awful lot to spend on a 350Z when you consider how many good earlier ones are about for much less, let alone 14K no?

Not done Any research on 370's but I there is one on the forum for sale for 12k with those miles, it's the base model though so does not have cruise/rev matching.

I have a 10-11k budget for a 350z and was hoping to get a sub 50k hr model, am I been realistic here as they few I've seen are up for 13-14k. Overpriced? To me that's entering 370 territory, dealers taking the **** or is this how much they Are selling for?

What forum?

Getting a GT is nice I have to say, not having cruise control or all the mod cons just seems a shame, and IMO adds to the enjoyment of the car.

At least my Skoda isn't a banana yellow automatic with an ankle cutter splitter and aftermarket skirts :p

That 350 isn't that bad really

lol, shallap.. bar the auto that 350z is exactly what I'd want!

I think 350z do look great in loud colours and I love the nismo bits on them.

seen a couple with factory nismo kit and all I can say is nomnom.

The GT when it was released was lovely. Nearly got a yellow GT - but then I saw the bl00 one and I never looked back.

Yours in blue is best colour :) shame they didnt make the HR's in that colour, midnight blue next best colour :D

Ok - so far I have asked the driveshaft question, any other known faults I need to be asking about?

Thanks in advance.

PS that yellow one looks ok apart from the auto box, I am 40 years old though and it looks a bit too modified for me :D

well you do drive a car that my grandma would call boring so I think your age doesn't have much say in this topic :D

I don't drive it through choice, I drive it so I can maximise my mileage allowance profits through reliability and economy! :p

I have had two cars which are considerably faster and less reliable before it! :( :(

I'm so bored...

I actually prefer the midnight blue, to be honest I think it looks great in most of the colours - bar gold! I would have liked a black one but when I saw the silver one I ended up getting it was just far more mechanically clean than others I'd seen so couldn't pass it up.

With regards to other faults, there isn't anything horrific. Obviously the usual regular servicing, skipping CD player (although most have had it replaced with an aftermarket one), squeaking seats is very common (mine suffers a little from this), handbrake sucks (but isn't exactly a massive issue), paint is generally terrible quality but again - just a haggling point really. The mid-pipe on the exhaust generally fails but again most have been replaced by now, also the gas struts on the boot are rubbish but its a very simple DIY fix (my wife has to practically hang off the boot to get mine to shut now, LOL).

Generally they are extremely reliable cars, bar general service items that are pricey they are really cheap cars to run. I've had mine 3 years now and other than upgrades through my own choice, brakes, tyres and servicing - that has literally been it!
