Who here owns a Fiesta ST?

WOW this new fiesta ST looks so much better then the mk7 ST in them pictures

Ay?

It looks largely similar except they gave it the back of a B-max. Side profile is very similar as well.

I like the front (as it is quite similar to the current shape) and I like the light ring around the lights. The interior looks like a step up as well (except I hate touch screens like that when they look like they have just been awkwardly stuck on the dash). However the rear is quite a step back in design in my opinion - horrible.

Shame it isn't anymore powerful than the current model as well :(. I reckon the next rival cars like the Clio RS and 208 GTI will be pushing ~225bhp or more

There could be one reason for keeping the power down to the same as the previous model...maybe for the NK8 they really are planning a Fiesta RS..

I was about to order a leased ST until I found out about this a few days ago... Well it's as expected really, it looks similar outside but is much better inside than the old one.

Not sure about the 1.5l 3 pot though...

I also feel that Ford have really dropped the ball with the new Fiesta doing away with the popular cheap trim options "studio and Edge" and having the Zetec as the cheapest option which raises the price up and will have buyers flocking to the cheaper Corsa imo.
And a Fiesta Vignale! Who the hell is going to buy that!

The new model Fiesta also has a Style model as the entry level...

18k seems about right to me.

Not sure about the 1.5L 3 pot myself but there's no denying that from the factory, it's both faster and more efficient than the old engine.

I quite like it overall.

Will definitely have a go in one when it's released. Will also probably look better in person!

I'm not a huge fan of the way a 3 cylinder sounds so that will be a big deciding factor for me, even with that valve in the exhaust.

Same as it is now, more or less. It's not been out long!

I believe it was just under 17k when released and now it is just under 18k (for the starting ST 1 model).

I would be surprised if the starting price for this new one is under 18k.

edit - ford website says ST1 is £18,145 now

Ahh ok, so a similar price then?

Some of the deals out there must be pretty good then, I've seen 14,000 ish for a new one?

Yes you have always been able to get good deals on these through brokers/dealer price matching brokers (ie ~14k for ST1 ~15k for St 2 and ~ 16k for ST 3)

I've been looking at used ST2 and ST3 variants, and one thing I noticed there seems to be quite a few around 18 months old.
They are typically lowish mileage (circa 10k) and private owner.
Just wondering why there are so many?
Were there special short lease deals at some point that these cars are from?

I must admit I am always slightly wary of private owner cars that are only 12-18 months old.

Yes there have been a lot of short lease deals on these I believe.

I'm guessing the very top spec one with all the toys/spec/gizmos etc might be pushing 22/23k this time around (if Ford are introducing a lot of available options and tech to the new Fiesta).

I doubt the lowest spec version will start from much more than 18k otherwise it is pushing into the territory of cars a class upwards.
