I think there is an option to turn that off. Can't remember exactly but I think I saw something like that in my bios.
May have undesirable outcomes tho.
That would be good once I've dialled my settings in. It is a ball ache unless diagnosing faults.

What are you used to? Windows 98? Sorry but you have got to be the first person to say that.
Updated bios? Are you running creators update? I know the new version of windows is removing programs it deems incompatible. Could be software rather than hardware issue.
Update the drivers for it?
What DDR4 16GB 3200mhz RAM is recommended for Crosshair VI Hero
Some people have had success with Corsair lpx gskill rgb also has had good results
Anything would boot faster than my X58 board. Around 25 seconds just to POST.Don't be sorry. I work in IT support so a lot of desktops and laptops as well as my own
Was thinking the Gskill guessing the Rainforest for this though. OCUK dont seem to stock them?
Correct. Gskill aren't willing to meet the requirements of OCUK or something along those lines. I have gskill rgb 3600 and have been solid at 3200 since day one.
Thanks
you think its best for Ryzen I go with RAM rated higher and down clock, like in your case 3600mhz to 3200mhz..
This is where I have seen pretty much guaranteed speeds. With the bonus that we may be able to hit 3600mhz one day.
Gaming performance thumbs up.
However browsing the web my old 3570k seems to be able to load pages faster than my 1700.
Doesn't matter as much as does not use the 1700 for browsing but just an observation.
This is with Chrome which is meant to be multi thread.
I noticed the opposite if anything, my haswell xeon at 3.7 certainly feels slower browsing and youtube viewing. The boot time on that would wipe the floor with this though why is every ryzen so slow to boot!?
Re Browsing
I came from a 4790k @ 4.8 and yes that felt more responsive quicker than my 1700's @3.6 which is to expected with the Intel running faster
but its not that much
and with now after a month with the 1700's i do not even notice any more and i sometimes forget i am on a AMD platform which is a good thing
Good point
Yes boot times on my intel was much faster ...I would like to know why Ryzen is so slow to even post never mind loading windows..i assumed it would be resolved with bios updates and to be fair with the latest bios its quicker but still slow compared to intel
From turning on it can take up to 10 seconds before it posts ? I am on MSI tomahawk be good to know what other peeps get with cold post

20.1 seconds. Crosshair VI. Does that include pword login? For those saying their post time is quick, what does task manger say for last bios time under startup?
Is the 3600 c16? Did you downclock and run at c14 timings?

That time is just between power on and hitting the windows loading screen as far as I'm aware.20.1 seconds. Crosshair VI. Does that include pword login?
