They'd potentially need more than that - people hold up their economy, etc. as an example but look a bit closer for instance their exposure in Spain (which is going south very fast but everyone seems to be trying to ignore) which currently isn't an issue with us in the mix, but with us leaving and them having to shift things around its going to expose the weaknesses.
are you actually serious..... It's called the bedroom tax because it is a tax, a tax on council tenants that have what the government calls a "spare bedroom". This has made life hell especially for pensioners who can not deal with the financial strain of the rent increase or the stress of having to move out which for a pensioner will involve a moving company, added financial strain which half of pensioners probably couldnt afford.
And what about the disabled who use that spare bedroom as a therapy/treatment room or just a room so their spouse can sleep properly.
you torys are absolutely clueless on the harm this government have caused to the most vulnerable in our society. And the reason you are clueless is because you only get your information from mainstream media who rarely report on it.

Technically he's right, it's not a tax, it just got that nickname as an easy soundbite and it stuck
It still doesn't have to be a tax to be ill thought out and unfair
Dolph may be many things (I don't even think a Tory is one of them, he's far more Libertarian than that) but uninformed and/or clueless is definitely not one of them

Royal mail, which had already been sold off.
You think them selling off the 'national asset' of loss making RBS is a terrible thing?
At least we eventually just about scraped our money back out of Lloyds.

The land registry is one of them. If its not been sold off already. Can't really predict the future but all you have to do is look at the tory record over the last 6 years to see they have been doing it and will continue to do it. If you can't get your head around that then there's no hope.

It isn't a tax at all, it is a benefit reduction. The impact is a reduction in housing benefit, not an increase in taxation, and brought housing benefit (paid to those eligible living in social housing) into line with Labour's changes to local housing allowance (paid to those eligible renting privately) brought in during 2008.
If you don't understand the basics of the system, the value of your argument is rapidly diminished.
You probably want to search my post history before assigning positions to me as well, it will save you being really insulting later on.
How would you fund university fees? Someone has to pay for it and the numbers have to add up?

You posted something that stated the Tory's would sell off more national assets than ever before.
You can't name them, as the one you named, you pondered if it had been sold off already.
That why I asked, I asked you to back up the twaddle you were posting with actual facts.
Thus far, you've dangled a half fact, and then semi-withdrawn it.
If you can't get your head around people asking for facts to back up your statement.....

Yea, well people's view on 'fair' is rather subjective, look at the consternation on here by Labours proposal to tax the highest 5% of earners a bit more, those earning £70k+
The flip side is, what a great success investing £20.3Bn over the best part of a decade and getting £20.4Bn back.
The problem is we have a system that allows people to advocate for spending paid for only by others, rather than everyone, so you end up with different rates of property seizure via taxation based on arbitrary and irrelevant factors, rather than fair taxation that ensures all of society contributes in fair proportion for the commitments made.
Sadly, no one is advocating a good universal income and taxation system, and probably never will unless the courts start treating property rights the same as other rights where the state is concerned.

This is something I dislike, not the rise in fees but the mad method they used, which might well generate a 30 year write off black hole.
Then selling off loans, and the rates of interest on the current loans.
Its not the sort of plan they should have implemented to increase fees, the fee increases themselves if necessary should persists by this odd loan system should not.
just look at their record and what they have sold off already. Do you honestly think they are suddenly going to change and stop selling off public assets?
