Exactly why they are doing this. They want to ensure we get the worse deal possible which will ensure 2 things. The UK will not go for the deal and possibly stay in the EU. Secondly they will send a message to anyone wanting to vote Le Pen, Five star etc. It is a win situation for them to go into the negotiation with this approach. They have also tried to break the negotiation into 2 parts. We have to basically give them what they want before they can even discuss what we want. This isn't how negotiating works. This approach by the EU will lead to hard Brexit. That is at least the impression they want to give. However we need to stick to our guns. The EU will come under immense pressure internally to do a good deal. We need a very strong government to do this and the more seats aligned to Brexit the better. The EU can not try to divide and conquer our parliament. We will divide and conquer the EU by dealing with individual countries privately.

We should begin focusing on getting deals with commonwealth countries as well as the EEA and Switzerland. Then go further than this with other countries. We have the freedom to do this now. The Ireland border could also be solved if they left the EU. Either leave completely or move to the Swiss or EEA position so that we can setup an agreement more easily.

Who signed Liam Fox up to OcUK?

What I said first of all then how I followed up after confirms what I meant. The only conflict I can see here is the conflict of your own interest.

I'm still not sure what you meant or what you mean by my interest? I simply asked about some rather vague and seemingly conflicting statements you made.

I made a statement, you read it and something I said has bothered you. If you care enough about it to question it (and again) I can only assume as above, my opinion conflicts with your own.

No I questioned it, as I said before, because the statements you made seemed to conflict with each other.

Diane Abbott continues to get utterly savaged in interviews:

She's demonstrated some dubious numeracy issues - in the original interview even if she didn't know the figures her guesses were so obviously wrong even on the second attempt when offered a chance to correct what could have been excused as a slip up. Sadly for her this plays right into the Tories' spin about the opposition being incompetent and the country needing strong and stable leadership not the potential 'coalition of chaos' etc..

edit - spelling

Haha yet you lap up what they said happened at the dinner as 100% factual.

The 100 billion has been widely reported - if inaccurate they must have denied it surely?

AGain its just an opinion piece by one paper. On another note before TM did her speech today the leaders of the EU were making positive speeches praising her and saying positive things about the negotiations.

She's a pretty odious individual if you've ever heard her personal take on race, parenting and education. As an Londoner; her views on certain subjects are highly suspicious bordering on duplicitous. Yeah, she's awful.

Abbott is terrible. She should have just gone into a trance and repeated 'strong and stable government' over and over again, people seem to like that.

I think that Trump's style of campaigning - that treats the electorate like idiots - is going to have a profound influence on this and future British elections.

Or is it the first stage in the process of trying to claim that they want 100Billion so that when they have to pay, say 60Billion, they can say we got a good deal.

May has just accused the EU of trying to influence the General Election. :p

Hey everyone, welcome to 1984, there are faceless, evil foreign wrongdoers who want to wreck your lives! I couldn't possibly say who they are or what they are doing specifically but they are out there. If you don't vote for me they will destroy your lives!

Amazing, truly unspeakably terrifying that this can be allowed political discourse and perhaps more worrying is that it is given air time. I hope she dies, I genuinely hope she goes off into a hole and expires before she destroys us all.

If people think what she is saying is acceptable you are building a gibbet for yourself in the long term as who becomes the next "bogeyman" to get votes?
