Summer Transfer Window 2017/18 - Rumours & Signings

Reports in some media that Liverpool have signed a pre-contract with Iker Casillas??

I know goalies have a longer career than outfield players, but I dont really want a keeper who is turning 37 next year and has no premier league experience. I will choose to take it with a pinch of salt for now.

Sanchez listed as a Bayern player for the confederations cup. Let that out the bag a bit early it seems?

I'm calling BS on this....

I'm going with a 'shop which the rags are just regurgitating.

Do we need another marquee signing, especially a striker?

Zlatan will be 36 and returning from injury
Rooney will be 32 is surely heading out the door
Martial doesn't look like he'll start a lot of games under Mourinho
Rashford looks good, but surely needs someone else to take more responsibility for getting goals

I'd say it's almost nailed on that you'll be after a marquee striker.

Corrected for you

Utd need a marquee striker to replace Zlatan, and given that even before his injury we needed more goals - a really decent wide player as well wouldnt hurt.

Im not sure Rooney's ego will allow him to sit on the bench for another year.
If Southgate rules him out of the England games as is being rumoured surely that will force Rooney to look for more game time elsewhere?

Perhaps, I wonder if an MLS team would go for him and loan him back to EPL until Jan, maybe Everton? It has to be MLS or China surely, can't see where else he would go really.

Expect Antoine Griezmann will now join United. He wants it resolved in next 2-3 weeks before he goes on honeymoon #mufc

This will put down a great marker providing we get him. One of the few world class players available. Release clause is £83m I think, suspect we'll just pay that (or Atletico will agree to sell for that so we don't have to start faffing about with lawyers).

Should be a good transfer window coming up...

Hope so

Well record breakers are pretty rare. There's only been three since Ferdinand and If De Bruyne is worth it then Pogba definitely is. Bit of a meaningless statement though.

It is far easier to list big bux buys that have flopped vs what has worked. Your rooneys, lampards, ronaldos were all cheap. Then you have your Torres, Di Maria, Sterling, Andy Carol etc.

Look how much Utd spent and I would say Eric Bailly was one of our best buys. Vidic, VDS and Evra were cheap as chips and led to European record for clean sheets.

Bailly was hardly cheap...
