Tower block fire - london

I can't help but think that tower blocks of considerable size should have some way of keeping tabs on the total number of people coming in/out the block, this devastated tower block has ~70 people missing and some sort of sensor would help reveal how many poor people are dead in the flats.

Would be almost impossible to implement - when you visit big businesses in tower blocks usually all visitors (and employees) have to check in and out at reception and get tags but that wouldn't work for a residential property.

Its amazing how underestimated the little things like keeping people atleast somewhat in the loop are and the more people perceive being ignored the more resentment builds (although at the same time some trite comments won't go down well either).
Crisis comms. Super important for Government as well as private companies.

Check terrible crisis comms from BP deepwater horizon vs very good crisis comms from Alton Towers Smiler accident.

Local council/govt going down the BP route at present.

The problem is much of the information they are demanding isn't information that the authorities have right now.

I appreciate how upset and angry people are, but giving them false or incomplete information just to pacify them is probably not the solution.

Exactly, Twitter, Statements etc... not good enough. As usual council leaders dodging accountability.
This sort of incident leaves councils out of their depth. It's something for Government to deal with. They're hanging the council out to dry, currently. And themselves, to an extent.

There was some council woman on 2:30pm earlier, cannot remember where or what news channel but she was saying they'll get people on the ground next week to hopefully she said start rehousing people...

Oh what a surprise, socialist workers party banners at the protest on the beeb... can always rely on them to be at any form of trouble...

He never gave a **** about British soldiers or their families when he was supporting the IRA who were bombing them.

War is Peace, Slavery is Freedom etc etc

Corbyn cares not for the military, because he wishes to reduce conflict, those who rush to awful wars/conflicts care so much.

most of this argument is Oxymoronic

My old offices used to have a sensor that counted. Not really sure how it worked I assume it detected if things were moving closer or further from it to determine in vs out.

Although if they can't keep a fire alarm working I doubt a sensor would receive much attention.

Cna use pressure or beam sensors, etc. but they are limited in their accuracy in a residential setting more useful for statistical purposes than giving you much of a firm idea of exact numbers.

Which needs to be a managed process - can't just turn your back on the military when we live in a world where there is still conflict.

I know people like to cling to hope but the people still walking around with "missing" posters need to just accept that if they've not found their loved one by now then they are almost certainly dead. If I'm wrong they will have one hell of a surprise but they need to just start grieving process now.
