It is a bit confusing compared to intel. If you buy Samsung b die based ram it works well for ryzen. Hynix based ram does not perform as well.
It's not confusing, it's just pure crap. Have to scramble around to find Samsung b die and overpay for RAM in order to be able to Run the platform without being it gimped is a joke. It's extremely bad engineering and I wish people didn't hype up Ryzen when clearly it's a gimped product.
People are so desperate to give AMD another shot, it's letting AMD get away with a really sub par product in every sense. Call the product for what it is, extremely unstable platform that is slower than the competition.
And people are saying AMD is back LOL...
, but then again AMD have a tiny budget compared to what Intel can spend and also Nvidia. Expecting them to be right up there with both Intel and Nvidia in all areas (performance, compatibility, even reliability), is expecting way too much. I cannot remember the figures now but saw recently AMD's spend was tiny last year compared to the big boys.
