Wait a minute, the stupid bloodwitch lady in Essos said that Dany couldn't have a child without sacrificing someone... i mean Jon already died once, surely this might count?

I've forgiven the show a lot this series as I just think they've removed fluff and jumped to armies/people being in places which is fine.

The last episode though  he runs across half the north, they send a raven Across half the realm, she then flies up all over the course of an evening

I'm still enjoying it but that was just stupid.

Donald Trump issues conflicting statements about Wight Supremacy, citing violence on many sides, on many sides.

Donald J Trump c/o www.slate.com GoT blog said:
Update, Aug. 21, 2017: As I said on Monday, we condemn in the strongest possible terms the egregious display of hatred, bigotry, and violence. It has no place on Game of Thrones. Wight supremacy is evil. And those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including Night Kings, White Walkers, skeleton army men, skeleton navy men, skeleton coast guards, and that undead giant a few episodes back.

Another Update, Aug. 21, 2017: I will tell you something. I watched Sunday night’s episode closely—much more closely than you people watched it. And you have a group on one side that was bad, and you had a group on the other side that was also very violent. And nobody wants to say that, but I’ll say it right now. The Night King’s undead army came charging by the thousands, tearing any living thing they could get their decaying hands on into tiny, bloody scraps before resurrecting them into a new life of eternal service to the forces of evil. And it was a horrible thing to watch. But there is another side to this. You also had a motley band of charming rogues traveling north of the wall on an extraordinary rendition mission without a permit, and they were very, very violent. I think there’s blame on both sides.

Yet Another Update, Aug. 21, 2017: To be clear, I do not endorse the actions of the Night King, and I reject his message of hatred, murder, ice spear attacks, and forced zombification.

Update? You Bet! Aug. 21, 2017: You know what? It’s fine. You’re changing history. You’re changing culture. And you had people—and I’m not talking about the White Walkers, because they should be condemned totally. But you had many people in the Night King’s zombie army of undead warriors other than zombies and undead warriors. You had some very fine people on both sides. And the press has treated them absolutely unfairly.

Gutted that one of the dragons got KO'd by the night king. Which made me think hold on, in the last battle with Jaime and Bronn, they managed to hit the dragon with a spear but it hardly made a dent to him.

Whereas the ice spear took that dragon out pretty quick. I was kinda hoping that Dany would have turned on the night king and burnt him and his cronies to a crisp but didn't :/.

I suppose that wouldn't have worked as that story arc would have finished there and then.

But then dragging the dead dragon out and reanimating as a blue eyed dragon. Looks like things are going to get interesting with that happening.

Wasn't a great episode, the Hound was an idiot for goading the white walkers into attacking them, that didn't work out too well as they lost a man or 2 because of him.

Looking forward to the final episode next week though.

The dragon / Snow departing party is easy to explain, and they did focus on it. The Dragon was on ice with a very limited ability to VTOL. normally they start flight by dropping off a cliff. You saw it struggling. Jon needed to ease the pressure of the dead so the dragon had max time to take off without being swamped.

<snip>

The writers can and have done so much better then this. That's what annoys me most of all.

Yes, but isn't that because before they had good material to work off, adapting a great book to a TV script is easier than writing the script yourself

This was always my concern, that the standard of writing would slip, and it has from the dialogue to the pacing

Indeed. I've often wondered if that's the true reason these last 2 seasons are shorter. They don't have the necessary padding for 10 episode's, let alone an 8th or 9th season.

Don't think it was him goading it that caused the attack directly. More a, oh ****, the ice has frozen over.

I reckon its going to be a huge Bran twist, it will turn out that in a Little Britain-esque twist, his legs have been fine all along and he has been scooting around when people werent looking :)
