Destiny 2

I wonder if the servers will only go live on midnight or few days earlier. Simplygames tend to deliver early.

I'd get it on PS4 to start with, as you'll have a months head start on PC, not to mention PC players are going to struggle to avoid raid spoilers.

6 months or so down the line when you've given up on the game and the first DLC comes out on both platforms (Winter 2017 according to activision so maybe more like 4 months), i'd maybe considering going PC then. DLC will bring back the playerbase (look at what heists did to GTA V online for example) and on the plus side it will probably be cheaper. The switch to PC will make it double fun as you get all the graphical upgrades etc..

That would be my plan

I don't see the point in playing it again, it was time consuming enough to make and level new characters in Destiny 1. Time will be limited with work and exams.

Think I'll stick with PS4 and hope they bring in some sort of feature that allows you to transfer saves from console to PC in future.

Yeh I was hoping to be able to play across Xbox and PC. As it is at the moment I'm thinking of just getting it on the One X (friends play on Xbox).

There is no custom banner functionality at present. Shame really as the available ones currently are a bit crap.
As soon as custom banners are available there will be an OcUK one up don't worry! The current designs are a bit rubbish so I've left it as default for the moment being.
This is an outrage! Although, free editing does mean they have to police it like the Battlefield emblems for penises and such.
Same. Not watched any of the EDZ stuff as I want to experience it fresh for the first time when I play. I went into destiny 1 blind a few days after release to join friends who had purchased it on release. I had no idea what the game was about, just that I should get it because it was good. Hopefully going to capture a tiny bit of that magic I felt all those years ago. It won't last for long as you start to know the area and the sense of exploration goes. Treasure it while you can.
Agreed, done the same with this one. Heard a few bits and bobs but I'll be in chat asking Martin all the questions upon release. Booked a couple of days off next week too. :D

So I foolishly decided to install the PC beta last night and give it a go. Oh bugger. Even on my rig I was able to max out settings at 1080p and easily stay above 60FPS, usually much higher. I'm not going to lie, it looked amazing and played even better. The keyboard and mouse just worked so well. I've already pre-ordered for PS4 and will defo be playing the crap out of it next week...... however a may fold and go PC when it hits. Nightmare lol

Good to hear from you again Dredd!

About 50 hours of content to do all the story missions and activities (about 80 activities). They area claiming its got twice as much to do than destiny 1. I'm not sure how many strikes there are. https://www.destructoid.com/destiny...e-than-50-hours-of-story-content-454554.phtml

Hiya Size :)

that statement could mean anything. one strike could become 3 activities by difficulty e.g. story, normal and nightfall

i just saw something about public events now include harder mode? again that could be two activities :(

Look like only way to wait for reviews and see whats included. Reviews should be out soon anyway? Or they delaying them after game launches?

We all know how it will go Dredd - you'll question the amount of content, you'll moan there isn't enough and resist picking it up day 1 then give in and get it day 2 :P

I've been actively avoiding D2 info recently as I don't want to read any spoilers. Is there a confirmed release date for the raid yet? I presume there will be the usual groups going in for a blind raid whenever it is released.

Last I read the Raid is going live only a few days (I think I saw 2) after launch.

This seems amazingly tight on timing but they may want a repeat of VoG first runs where everyone was 1-2 levels below requirement.

I will be hitting the grind quite hard once beating the story to be raid ready for a blind run. :)

EDIT: The only thing I am not sure of is which character will I main to begin with. I am actually leaning towards my hunter...

I know JP will probably be doing the same.

So true, if they used '80 unique activities' i'm sold day one.

My biggest problem with this game is lack of content. i don't count playing same strike 50 times for one weapon, should count as loads of content due to spending 40hrs doing it.

also rerunning same strike backwards as DLC, massive fu :(

i will wait for reviews, if game gets 8 or 9, hmmm

EDIT: lucky i'm not PC player, pretty sure its pre order :D

Last I saw they said soon after release but I didn't expect that soon! I'm off work next week so will have plenty of time to grind but even then, that seems exceptionally tight to try the raid day 1.

As for character - Warlock naturally :D

I still stuck enough time in to D1 and the expansions even with the, at times, questionable amount of content. Content was IMO the biggest criticism of D1 and I do think they got better towards the end so I am hopeful. I'm just not hopeful about being hopeful - pessimistically hopeful I suppose you could say.

The actual content (quantity) was pretty crap in vanilla D1, but honestly I kept playing due to the social aspect (re-running NF's etc). The banter when raiding and wondering who would die first (sorry Davie :p) all brought aspects to the game that went beyond just pure content.

If the rumours are true and D2 has as much content at launch as D1 has now (caveat being only 1 raid instead of 4), then it should be a very good start.

Exactly!! Nothing funnier than get sniped in the air by a taken hobgoblin when its arc burn :D

But yeah had a great laugh running the raids specially VoG when you asked if everyone is ready and we heard "Aw ****" That was Mach falling off the edge :D

OMG how could I forget the requirement of bumper bars for Mach... :p

I must admit one of the funniest videos I have watched as during a BA livestream. During one of the down moments one of the raid team decided to give a detailed breakdown on why Vosiks chamber broke x, y & z health and safety regulations. The timing and the delivery were perfect. :D

Looking back on D1 there are a few highlights of the game like completing each raid for the first time but most memories are of the social side. Pushing people off ledges while they were AFK, meleeing people as you knew it made their controller vibrate like made, Moe insisting we always wore glohoo to raid.
