I just checked this with Apple chat:
Me: It says about 4g connectivity - does it have 3G also?
Me:As I live in an area without 4G LTE
Apple: Oh, I see. I’d be more than happy to provide you the information that you need.
Apple: Daniel, you do not have to worry, since Apple Watch is capable of 4G, it is backward compatible with 3G.
Ive got my girlfriend the S3 38mm watch, for her birthday! Its the non LTE version, so am I missing anything obvious? Just wondering If I made the right choice
So there is no way getting this without contract?

Do I understand correctly, if I have an iPhone, I can use the watch through a connection to the phone without the need for any cellular business, it works over Bluetooth as an extension of the phone?
What does the cellular allow? Is it a fully functioning phone upon its own without the need to link it to an iPhone?
Or must it still be linked to a phone account?
Secondly, these fastcharge wirelessly now don't they? You don't still have to connect a cable each night to charge the watch, yes?
This is wrong, check the this link:

It will work on 3G in other countries, just not the UK which is what I said in my post.
of course you can. If you want SS or edition you have to have cellular anyways, doesn't mean you have to use it.Can I just order the cellular version then connect cellular up when I want to use it? I'm on 3 atm but for future proof I'd like the cellular model incase I do ever want to switch and use it....

Yes, but they subsidise the cost which works out ok. His post is if you buy the watch elsewhere and add the device to your contract.or EE are charging £159 upfront and £25pm with data on all models - the upfront is the 42 SS LTE.
