You are one person. I don't care if you have 30 systems. Changing the mindset of people when it comes to AMD is going to take a while, especially with Vega.
In your opinion or the way you see the world maybe.
Good Grief... Mindfactory CPU sales have gone from 10% AMD 90% Intel to 54% AMD 46% Intel, if the rest of the retail industry has even half that much of a change in AMD's Retail volume sales then AMD's uptake is still MASSIVE!
That "Mindset Change" has already happened, in a huge way.
Its not difficult, more people are choosing to buy AMD, a lot more, that's a completely different mindset to what went before.

It doesn't matter what people post on here you would always back AMD. As apparent by your complete disregard for the boot problems which I tagged you in yet chose to ignore.
Now AMD has a positive subject you jump straight in.
Yes, AMD are gaining ground. But only in etailer channels it seems.
I was tasked with getting a workstation the other day with work for cad design and the occasional HMI screen.
DELL nor HP sell a single ryzen/ thread ripper based workstation. If I wanted a reputable company to supply AMD I had to get an Alienware.
I don't need to tell you what my manager said when he saw it.

We all know the APUs aren't available which is why we are discussing sales of desktop chips.
I have no recollection of AMD ever having a successful laptop range even when they dominated the desktop performance wise.
I recall that the wisdom was to buy AMD for desktops and Intel for laptops.
You mentioned the early 2000s but that's when Intel started the Centrino platform branding using Pentium M CPUs which dominated the market.
That was followed by Core Duo towards the middle of the decade which increased their lead over AMD.
I'm not saying they never had a decent laptop platform it's just if so it was over 15 years ago and I very much doubt that as you stated the vast majority of laptops used them.
They didn't even manage that for desktop when they were the clear leader.

Have ever though that AMD fully deserve the praise? You seem to see fair praise for AMD as an attack on Intel and Nvidia.
They do, but its far from perfect as people on here like to make out.
Maybe zen2 can solve its biggest issues. The reason I'll be keeping my crosshair hero VI.
The motherboard with the cold boot problems, the reason you're getting rid of the system.... Not sure if you're serious now.
Except @Ste has the same issues on a gigabyte motherboard. With ram speeds above 3200.
The fact that i3's are beating ryzen in some games is another.
Hoping and preying devs will take advantage of ryzen is another.
Potentially keeping a platform that I'm not particularly happy with for another 12 months based on the assumption that zen 2 will fix its shortcomings is another.
I'm not alone in this, there are others that have dipped their toes in and have found the water too cold.
And people will always have problems with new platforms... especially ehusiasts trying fine tune every last drop of performance from a custom build.

For laptop at the time i'm 100% right, I never mentioned desktop. Thing is though, then, just like now, laptop is where it matters sales wise. So i'll bookmark this and maybe come back to it when AMD release the APU's

And why shouldn't we? Are the CPU's not unlocked?
AMD themselves have slides showing 3466CL14 is the best situation for games, its not unreasonable to run at those settings.
And I can, I just can't cold boot 1st time everytime with it. Sometimes its the 3rd attempt, others it the 1st. Slow boot times are another annoyance.
Yes, people do have problems with new platforms. Just not on here it seems as people brush over them and hail ryzen as the holy grail.
This is an enthusiast forum. You have a very twisted view. A great chip comes out after years of the same chip. How do you jump from people saying it's great to the holly trail. Come on, time to get a grip now.

Okay, name one AMD laptop platform that out performed and out sold Intel's Centrino range from the time-frame you referenced, the early 2000s?
AMD deserve praise for being AWOL for 8 years? Now that they can just about match Intel with 8 month old CPU's, ?
I take that view from the fact that this thread has been nothing but speaking about ryzen for the last god knows how many pages.
Yes, there are people that like ryzen, I do, to an extent but its not for me. I'd probably have the same view of the 6800k if I went down that route aswell.
But, there are numerous ryzen threads. Go and spread the love over there. This one is supposed to be about cofeelake.
