As an example, with no real backup - Braking from 80km/h (50mph) in the wet you'd be going 30mph or 0mph - I know which speed i'd prefer to hit a deer jumping out etc
 
I have the Assymetric 3 and I previously ran Assymetric 2 on my old F10 530d and have not noticed the 3 to be 'worse' than the 2. It's just as good if not better.
 
what i have noticed is say on a roundabout is the back end slipping and loosing grip and the TC kicking in, as its the family car too i worry about the wife and kiddies in it.
the eagles should be better and give us much more confidence in the wet.
the 225 45 17 are priced very cheap too.

They made all the difference on my GFs 1L automatic micra (god that was an awful car). We hadn't been together long, she lost the car on an off-camber corner, driving steady, in the dry! I had to come tow her out of a ditch. Upon inspecting the tyres I made sure they were replaced first thing. They were the cheapest of the cheap, no grip at all.

Sure, she managed to put it in a ditch while driving steadily around a corner in the dry... ;)

Having driven my Polo like a right ******* in the wet and the dry on all kinds of roads with cheapo tyres fitted, I find that incredibly hard to believe unless there was also an oil or diesel spillage on that corner.

I suspect there probably was something slippy, or a spillage, on the road. She doesn't drive fast. Needless to say, I think better tyres would have avoided the ditch.
