Got a puncture on the way home from work on Thursday afternoon :( Fortunately it maintained enough pressure for me to limp back the last mile or so :( Not looked into replacement and fitting of a new tyre yet, but expecting to be needing a new tyre rather than them be able to repair.

Gave it a check over, stuck a little air in the tyres, small top up of oil, lubed the chain. Checked out the built up filth and then gave in and gave it a quick splash with the hose still doesn't look much better than the before pictures though :D

Just taken the bike out for a run after having changed the high beam for a 50W 5000k HID. Huge improvement, I can actually see up the road now.

Low beam is still halogen so no glare to blind oncoming traffic, does mean I still can't see much into oncoming traffic but only so much you can do I suppose. The bulb was too long to fit into the low beam housing anyway, end of the bulb was hitting the part of the reflector that covers the top half of the bulb.

I had LED's on mine, once adjusted properly no flashed me. I had them a bit high at the beginning though. So check, as the adjustment is different when you compare halogen and LED/HID.

Took the little CB400 out today. It really is rather fun - lovely little engine.

The rear suspension feels a bit baggy, the headlamp is as effective as a candle and the brakes aren't as sharp as I'm used to, but it seems to be pretty sound.

Front calipers off, good bathing in brake cleaner to rinse out the crap, bit of wet and dry to tidy up the old pistons and then some RRG to try and keep the salt off until the weather improves then it's time to fit the stainless pistons and new seals.

If there's a break in the rain tomorrow then I still need to do the rear caliper and give the chain a clean and adjust.

I did the same, but not to the same standard, on the challenge bike.

First proper introduction to soap and water for a few months / years, I think.

Fluids and filters will be next, and then fix the slow leak in the petrol tank. I gave the chain a thorough clean, and there are a couple of stiff links in there. I think that'll need to be changed, so I'll get that done when replacing the rear tyre.

Before (if it wasn't obvious!)
