**** The Official Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Thread ****

So my poorly note 8 has been returned today with a new motherboard and all fixed it was sent on Sunday.

The fault was it lost all networks like it had been uk network locked?

Still not happy with this update, it claimed to fix WiFi issues but it's made mine worse; it reset my Underground Virgin free WiFi and I have to sign in almost every time despite only needing to do it once before, WiFi at work and home seem more flaky and on a number of occasions despite it saying it has a working internet connection - pages fail to load as if there weren't.

Using my White Dome, for some reason the replacement only is more than the full set I bought. So definitely in need of a cheaper alternative. I *think* my WD would have been great if it weren't of my haphazardness when installing (accidentally dropped the protector and glued the phone inside the cradle), there's just some spider fingers in one corner and at the bottom.

Battery seems to have settled post update, on 2hr12mins SoT with 72% left. However I think I have started to notice the fabled Samsung lag, just a minor stutter in actions that weren't there before.

Can anyone tell me what Service Provider sw version their phone has on it, I'm interested in the Samsung direct version and the UK sim free version id's. I have seen quotes that the UK has both XEU and BTU but there are also about 6 other codes samsung has used in the past.

Got a BTU here. When I've had a carphone warehouse variant I've received XEU and noticed I had the delayed updates. I did read a few years back somewhere on xda of someone thinking that CPW /reseller SIM free phones often get their updates after O2 had got theirs completed as they had something to do with approving or releasing the update. The details are lost on me now but never looked into it further.

My Note 8 from Samsung direct is BTU , both the S7E I've had and the Note 7 where from Samsung UK and all were BTU

Thanks both of you. Exactly what I was after.

Another ~700MB update wanting some attention though looks like bug fixes. Less impressed by install early in the morning feature - it didn't actually do it lol.

Assume Samsung are all hands on deck with the S9/S9+ hence these lengthy betas and no real sign of Oreo, just think even if it came out tomorrow there will still be people (probably) near the end of the year that still won't have it lol!.
