Here is my little one.

We've not had a kitten before so this is our first, he's a great little guy. Named him Bagheera/Baggy for short (Jungle Book) :)

EDIT: Sorry, not sure why all my images are sideways, they weren't on upload!

After taking my cat to the vets last week, it turned out he had cystitis but he wasn't blocked up as he had no urine in him. He's been on some tablets for the last week or so and he's been fine since a couple days after I took him to the vets. He's been fed dry food (Applaws) for a few years after the vet recommended switching from wet but now the vet wants him to go onto Hills food. Does this stuff actually work? It seems expensive and vets seem to want to push it a lot, obviously if it is the best thing to do I'll do it but would a raw diet not be better?

Here is my little one.

Black cats are the best!! :D

How much hissing/batting etc is acceptable when they first meet again?

This pretty much depends on the context. Is one being playful and the other not in the mood for it? Is it invasion of space? Is it retaliation from previous interactions?

Obviously the corrective action for each is completely different, sometimes completely ignoring them and moving about (changing rooms) is the corrective action. I'm no cat whisper, but I do believe they look to you (not all the time though xD) for help and guidance when they are dealing with new situations.

My Millie does most of her sleeping during the day preferring to come and go through the cat flap at night. Had to take the expensive flap apart because of an obvious design flaw. The opening and closing of the flap was bloody noisy given it was plastic on plastic . All it required was a bit of hear shrink around the plastic hinge lugs which drastically cut the racket.

Who’s cats sleep in their bedroom? Mine is climbing all over my pillow, meowing and peeving me off right now :p

Ever since the first night I had Dex as a kitten he's slept with me. I tried to keep him downstairs when I first got him but I could just hear him meowing constantly so let him come up with me and he curled up under the duvet. Now it's a nightly ritual, he'll get in bed when I get in and knead me for a bit then curl up in my armpit and purr away! He generally ends up sprawled across the bed stealing the covers and annoying the missus, I sleep through it all though. :D

Tried keeping Baggy in our room as a kitten but he wakes my girlfriend and I up at 4am and pounces on our face to play (no claws). He's a bit relentless these days, we have to knacker him out before bed time and shut the door, he just sleeps outside after a while but jumps on the door handle and lets himself in. I had to fit a round door handle on the outside of the door which stopped this but now he just sits there squawking. Strangely he'll play fetch as well, I can get a squeaky toy and throw it downstairs he'll be back with it in his mouth in a few seconds, drop it and sit and wait for one of us to throw it - He's a cat/dog hybrid :D

Such a needy little guy though, he follows us everywhere, only if it's just to sit beside us. We're wondering if we was weened off his mother too early as he was 8 weeks when we picked him up.

The trick is to pet them until they either can't take it and move away or roll over and fall asleep, then you may sleep. :D Although one of mine doesn't sleep on my bed 90% of the time unless its really cold. She's heartless I tell you!

You and me both - Ronnie gets heavier and heavier I have to roll him off.

Ronnie is crashed out - had a hard morning rabbiting but didn't bring one home unlike yesterday where he had one for breakfast and one for evening meal - He dun arf crunch the heads. Just leaves back legs and bum.

Bella waits until she can see I'm asleep, then jumps on the bed and nestles between my legs (on the outside of the duvet tho).

I never hear a peep from her but Mum says she can sometimes hear her jumping around and playing with her toys. Guess I sleep through it.

When I wake up she's always there lying on the bed between my legs... and I'm always lying on my back. Seems my unconscious brain won't let me roll over (health and safety innit) so I get stuck on my back... Before I had Bella I would always wake up on my side. Strange!

Yeah the heartless one does that to me as well. I wake up in the morning with my legs feeling absolutely pinned, with the loving boy lying against one leg and her on the duvet between the legs. I hate sleeping on my back so I don't know how she manages to get there! Same issue as you it seems. xD

Abby, my youngest, sleeps between my legs at night and Jade sleeps in her bed on the floor on my side of the room. The only time Jade comes onto the bed while we are in it is if I don't get up early enough to give her breakfast. She then stands/sits on my chest with her face right up to mine going meow and licking my nose until I wake up. The first time she did it she scared the crap out of me. You don't expect to wake up, open your eyes and have a pair of eyes glowing at you. :D
