Monster Hunter World (PS4, XB1, PC)

Finally took down the anjanath last night with a little help from a rathian picking it up and dropping it :D

Actually did a small celebration after it finally went down haha what a game

Made it to the elder dragon quest last night. Teostra seemed to take forever and a couple of runs were needed to take him down. Kushala Daora on the other hand was a breeze (pardon the pun) and was downed very quickly and without too much trouble. Hopefully get to the last one tonight.

Did the rathalos fight last night with two friends. Literally took half an hour to down the beast! (When the tree breaks and all that water gushed out, was a major ballache) other than that. Not too bad.

Insect glaive is brilliant for killing flying creatures, because, if you have the stamina and buffs activated you can literally keep constantly in the air and all of the monsters attacks miss you(legiana is trivial using the glaive) my feet literally never touch the ground during that fight :D

Ok just completed the campaign and really enjoyed it.

Then I found out I have to redo all the same monsters again just higher level version and I was like “meh” but you know what? The game really does a good job at pushing you onwards.

Put together a starter High rank set of jägers and Bone but keep running out of credits :/

Quickest way I found to get credits is to do a quick investigation on a monster you do not need the bits from and choose sell all at the end. A quick 25K in 5/10 mins

Finished the storyline quests last night which I knew would unlock higher HR but didn't realise the game had been banking xp so was surprised to jump from HR15 to HR23 instantly. Need to farm some better gear now.

Do you guys roll back weapons or just make new ones?
Make new ones dude, I've got about 8 bows for all different occasions :)

Mainly because a) the materials to craft the initial weapons on a tree become so easy to farm b) once you start getting to high rarity you can't roll back anyway (also good luck finding gems)

Nice one! I've done Nerg, Vaal and Kush; so just got Teo and Xeno now I think? Nerg was pretty mental compared to the other two. What gear are you running?

Had pretty much a full Rathian set on with some skull helmet.... about 350 defence I think. Weapon wise it's the Flammensucher sword and shield.

Give me a shout if you want a hand with the last two.

Been doing a bit of material farming before continuing on past the Nerg mission and now I've almost got a full set of Nerg armour with an eyepatch in the place o the helmet, just need to add the gauntlets to complete my set.
I've just completed the three area investigations to discover Vaal, Kush and Teo... so I think I'm ever so slightly behind you Lacky.

I just start a new weapon when I want to go into another tree, gives more options for exploiting monster weaknesses.

Yeah I did the same to be honest, got nerg chest and belt. Been trying to get gems as well, still need Rathalos and Elder Dragon gems though. I was nervous for Vaal and Kush, as I struggled with Nergs aggression at first, but cleared them both first time no faints. If you can get through Nerg without faints then you should be fine. For Vaal, health booster and nulberries; and for Kush just bring 20 flash pods :p I also had bombs and a high Elderseal weapon, not sure if that helped though.

Cheers man, should be about tonight, would be good to play again

Two of the three elder dragons down, just Teostra left to finish off.

Had a couple of goes at him last night but the randoms I was with kept running in when he did that nova blast...

Managed to take down Teostra and Xeno... Xeno was far too easy, you could stay beneath it for almost the entire fight and not get touched so I found that part a bit underwhelming.
So far Bazel has been the toughest opponent.

Have to agree on Xeno but for me Teostra was the toughest opponent.

Teostra was a good challenge for me, took about 4 attempts to learn the patterns and find people who didn't sit next to the super nova attack.

I think I found Bazel more challenging as I never fought that one until the tempered ones appeared after Xeno.

I think I almost always have the company of a couple of other players in my hunts, really enjoy the chaos that often follows with a disorganised squad.

Put some more hours in over the weekend, finished Teo and Xeno. As above Teo is probably the hardest, Xeno is just big and slow.

Also managed to smash out the double Tempered Bazel quest, so working towards HR50 now. Dung pod one to split them up, then flash pod so you can put damage in and then capture both of them when they're low. Flash pod end game meta, I'm growing double as I'm using so many :D

Most of the time SOS players are quite competent, but its so annoying when someone just wakes up a monster when they're sleeping (i.e. prime for capture / bombs) Take Chad last night, Tempered Azure Rath, really annoying fight in the narrow forest area with Bazel and Rathian crashing the party. 1 faint left and we get him low enough to sleep; but he gets there first and wakes him before we can do anything, Rath enrages and kills him. Fight failed, thanks Chad

Nice going. The double tempered Bazel really hacked me off. Bazel seems to be the monster that everyone has avoided as very few seemed to know how to deal with them, way too many failed quests due to people attacking close in during the glowing haemorrhoid phase. Get a team who know what they are doing and like you say its just a case of divide and conquer.

That's interesting. I found Teo the easiest. Solo
No faints first attempt. Other 2 fainted once each time. Just goes to show how varied things can be depending on gear and play style.

I think I've only got the 1 story line quest left. What's the end game? Go up HR and beat each challenge along the way ?
