*** Nintendo Switch ***

Big patch is out for DOOM. Seems it adds gyro/motion control aiming, improves resolution, fixes the music...lots of stuff. Just saw some videos of it captured on the Switch and have to say it looks a lot better. Also only €30 from the SA store right now. Seeming like its worth a purchase now :)

Nice, no Gyro/motion control was the only thing that stopped me buying - can't be dealing with FPS on console controls. But motion? I am in, I never played it on PC so it will be fresh for me

Still wading my way through Zelda with the odd breakout session on ARMS :-)
Its getting to the stage where I'm thinking of a new game.
So far I have Mario and Rabbids,
Zelda,
Fast RMX,
Fate/Extella,
Bayonetta,
Gorogoa
Steamworld Dig 2
Mario Kart

On my want list are

Doom - I'm going to get this at some point
Super Mario - same as above
Skyrim - too similar to Zelda?
LA Noire - never played it
Resident Evil - Again, never played it
Tiny metal - I love my strategy/battle games

Anything else I should be looking at, I'm avoiding the metroidvania clones at the moment...

Doom is a very good fast paced FPS and the addition of gyro makes it much easier to play in handheld.
Mario Odyssey is fantastic. Everyone with a Switch should play it.
Skyrim is so good on the go. Blows my mind that something so massive can be played anywhere. There is just so much to do and you can just ignore the story and explore if you want to. It's nothing like Zelda and if you've never played it you really should.
I almost bought LA Noire this weekend. It's on my radar as I've never played it despite owning it on the 360. A little too expensive right now though.
Resident Evil Revelations I adored. I had so much fun with it. I started Rev 2 but moved on to something else. Will go back to it at some point.

If you like strategy you might want to think about Darkest Dungeon. Turn based dungeon crawler stress management game. Can be a a little grindy to get your estate to 100% but I don't mind that because it is so good. 50 hours and counting. My go to on the go game at the moment.

Steamworld Heist is also a surprisingly good turn based strategy game which I really enjoyed.

Bought Oddysey for my work trip last week....totally underwhelmed tbh.

I think you have to be some kind of Mario fanboy that's excited just to play a 'new Mario' to give it the kind of review scores it was getting. It's a mediocre platformer at best, some of worlds are just plain horrible art-wise, (looking at you New Donk City). Some of the controls suck (flying lizard guy).

Maybe should have been posted on the 'controversial opinions' thread, but I'm very disappointed. Rayman Legends is a much better platformer.

Just got a jelly deal come up from Euronet Argos are selling them through eBay Nintendo switch with Mario odyssey for £275 brand new. Would buy it but can't afford it still.

@mid_gen how far are you into Odyssey? The game goes up a notch significantly once you defeat bowser.

I'm at New Donk City...put a few hours in. Maybe I'm associating it too much with being stuck on a long haul flight :P

At the moment it just feels like the designers just threw **** at the wall and left the players to find out what sticks. The different gameplay mechanics aren't rewarding the way discovering new ways to do things in BotW is.

New Donk City is actually my least favourite map... :)

Give it some more time. It gets a lot better, especially post credits.
