Monster Hunter World (PS4, XB1, PC)

How does the Felyine Insurance work? If I get it as part of a meal does it only apply to me or the whole group?

If it's the whole group does it stack e.g if everyone had it or is it a one time per group deal. Being as far as I am I should really know ha. Currently HR46 slowly grinding up to Tempered Kirin.

The Felyine Insurance skill covers the entire group on your hunt.
Unsure if it stacks with multiple people having it active (probably doesn't)... with it being a random effect, it'll very unlikely that more than one person ever has it so that's hard to check.

Hopefully when the new monsters get released it'll alleviate some of that feeling of burnout.
Looking forward to Deviljho being added in Spring.
Nice one dude, Kirin up next! Again happy to help with that if you need. How are your decos? That’s the biggest grind for me at the moment
If I catch you online I'll join your online session. :)
We'll see how Tempered Kirin goes, if it uses the exact same attack pattern as the regular Kirin I last fought then it'll be a laughable battle since we spent almost the entire time just walking around each other with me just stepping in for 2-3 hits and then going back to the dance.

I've not really been paying much attention to decorations, I think I have lots of level 1 trash and maybe one level 3 poison coating.
At the moment I'm mostly using stuff that boosts attack as much as possible so have things like the flight jewel, attack jewels and dragon jewels on. Usually combined with the maintenance jewel so that I can drop my healing booster more frequently for allies.

How da hell do you augment your weapons? i'm at max upgrades with my Diablos shatterer 2 and cera coilbender at level 65 or something... are there stipulations to augmenting?

I use bow, gunlance and dual blades. Haven’t had a single hero stone drop yet for the level 8 weapons, but have lots of warrior ones for the level 6’s.

I had a small break after getting to credits at 90 hours. So many different sets and items I want. 5 hours straight play last night. Amazed It as still got me.

What's the level cap on this ? Last night I did the Diablo hunt for the first time and couldn't cope with it burrowing and coming back up it kept taking half my health , so I fired an sos flare up , in comes a guy at hr129 and absolutely wrecks the Diablo and I end up capturing it..

Finally got to high rank last night, feel like the zora parts of the game are the weakest, had a quick look at armour sets available Jesus this game opens up massively I'm spoilt for choice :D

I think it's 999. HR though is only a reflection of how long you've played. I find Diablo generally difficult to hunt. He's quick and sometimes unpredictable. Shooting screamer pods when he goes down stops him in his tracks though.

A question to the MHW pros on here. Is it better to have a slightly lower attack power but higher affinity via say handy craft or have a higher attack power with lower affinity? Currently trying to refine my LS gear and I can have handicraft 5 but drop my attack power by about 30.

Fairly sure the rank cap is 999 based on previous Monster Hunter titles, we'll have to wait and see when someone finds the cap.

I'm certainly not a pro but have been reading lots of people's calculations on affinity vs attack power and most say that raw damage outweighs affinity by a fair bit.
The main things I've been going for are attack up, critical boost, sharpness and then weakness exploit.

With the longsword, I sometimes find it's useful to complete the spirit combo a couple of times on smaller creatures before going for my target so that I go in with it already in the red sword phase for maximum damage.

Had this game since Monday and I'm loving it. I played the BETA and thought it was awful, the clunkiness and framerate was enough to put me off. Very happy to see this game actually performs well on the launch PS4!

Just got to the stage where I have to defeat Anjanath. Just failed after 30 minutes due to feinting (me twice, I sent out the SOS) and some other guy. Gutted as we was very close to defeating him....

Anjanath is the first real challenge. My advice would be to research it, find it's weakness. Get the correct gear and try again. This would be the core of the game. Incredibly rewarding.

You could have course SOS and get help but the first method would teach you a lot.

I'm still learning certain aspects of the game. Ended up using SOS but was still a struggle.

I'm on an expedition where I need to take down Radobaan but finding it near impossible. I'm breaking him down but eventually he ends up getting his parts and all his armour back, do monsters regenerate health during expeditions?

Has nothing to do with the expedition, it’s just that type of monster. When he burrows he regains the parts you broke off. Just keep chipping away and it’ll die!

I'm far from my ultimate set. At the moment just playing around with fun builds.

One is a super defensive health Regen mix with val hazak gear and 200 hp.

Another is a full poison damage set. With 3 poison decos. The monsters are suffocating on the purple stuff.

Can anyone help me out here? I'm upto
Pink Rathian
. I'm seriously struggling against him. Tried solo, tried in groups with SOS. Each time, I/we wipe and fail. I don't know what I'm doing wrong and now I seek actual help. I'm not in a "guild/clan" yet either as I don't know where/how to find one.

If it helps, I'm using the Switch Axe.

I didn't find her to hard to be honest. A couple of careless attacks got me carted but very much hit and run tactics. Flash podher when she flys to bring her down. Go for tail first. Also I try and capture if poss as can usually be done quicker. GS user myself
