Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

The MM is full of GPU deals and OcUK are doing a deal for 1070ti for under £400. Shiny new cards must be due for announcement within the next few weeks.

If those figures are true then it looks to me that this isn't an upgrade for 10xx owners but for 9xx owners. If they release a full-fat Titan at launch, I'll likely go for that. However, I'll also need availability of high-refresh 4K monitors.

or the 11 series titan...

Already seen it, the Titan V is not bad @2160p but it can not max everything.

The problem with trying to max games at a resolution is even though the pixels don't change as newer games come along, what the game Devs include in extra features and options do.

They have to release a new generation of cards soon, especially with the new 4k 144hz monitors coming out. Would be a completely pointless product otherwise.

Might be time to upgrade my 970 then, though if expected around Jul/Aug time would be tempted to wait another couple of months and see what black friday would bring out

I’ve been waiting for a proper 4k @60Hz GPU with everything maxed. Hoping this will be it:)
I think the 1180 will do a fine job on 4K until 1180Ti comes along. More than likely I will just grab one asap and then wait for aftermarket 1180Ti watercooled card. Either that or if the 1180 is good enough I will wait for the 7nm Titan in 2019/20 and build a full system with a 7nm CPU using hard tube watercooling.

In the mean time I am happy with my 1050 as I am not gaming on the PC at the moment. Got a Nintendo Switch plus board games so plenty of choice, just a wish there was more time.

There won't be any single GPU solutions in the next few years that can drive 2160p/144hz anywhere near maxed. To do it you would need a GPU packing around 50 billion transistors and that is not going to happen for 4 or 5 years.
