They did show a performance comparison between the 1080ti and the 1080 at the reveal. They didn't do it at the 980, 1080 or 1080ti shows why would they start now.
They did show the UE4 demo but we don't know what was being done setting and tech wise

Which is not the same as a performance comparison between the 1080ti and the 980ti so dreigns was correct. They did show a performance comparison between the 1080ti and the 1080 at the reveal.
No it isn't the logical conclusion - it is just crap. Many of the media present at the Tomb Radar demo made it very clear that they were told this was an unpolished, very early build - but most people in this thread who have one goal (to fuel negativity) completely failed to include that part in their comments. Now the devs have responded formally stating what most of the people present already stated - so there is no more confusion.
No one is confused about price, pure greed on Nvidia's part. A third tier mid range 2070 at £570, a total joke.
Can you give us a breakdown of R&D, cost of chip and all the tech in it, manufacturing costs, profit etc? I have no idea but you seem to.
still waiting for the msi seahawk to be released, very slow this time![]()

This is irrelevant, there are market segments that are usually adhered to. If Ford decided to make a super expensive Fiesta and try to charge double what they were last generation for it people would baulk.
This doesn't adhere to the usual market segments because it is a completely new technology so it is not comparable with the old segments. If Ford create a Fiesta that flies you wouldn't expect it to be in the same price range as a Fiesta which can only drive on roads. This is irrelevant, there are market segments that are usually adhered to. Do I? Did I quote their r&d costs?
Of course their costs could have risen by 40% over the last couple of years. Or it could be price gouging, take your pick.

They compared all the Tis. I was meaning they gave a performance indication against a card we knew the full performance of. Granted it was just a general "faster than" but it gave a good indication about what to expect which turned out to be accurate.Which is not the same as a performance comparison between the 1080ti and the 980ti so dreigns was correct.
Well you said the prices were a joke, so I assumed you knew something about the costs.
Prices are higher than last gen generally even in the US but I expected that even if the new tech turns out to be a waste. The prices are really terrible here though because of the pound and the usual costs that we are told about for a new hardware release in the UK.

A top card, 2005/2006 accounting for inflation cost £550. Where does £1100 come from? Nvidia driving future gamers to AMD powered console's, ironic.
But how can you just figure in inflation. What about the pound, development costs, staff costs, manufacturing costs, shipping costs, tax, import duty? The fact this chip is bigger with new tech in it? Have all of these just had a set increase that we know of over the last 12 years?
