I've gone for the midnight blue Apple leather case, it really does look good but it's very slippery - do they get better?

Anyone gone for Apple Care Plus?

I had a saddle brown case on my 7, and when I retired it last week, not having a case would’ve provided more grip it was that slippery.

I don’t know if I had a duff case, but mine was minging after about 4 months, and the leather had worn away at the bottom revealing the plastic underneath - which then started to break.

Luckily I bought it in the states so it only cost about £35, sod paying £55 for one again. I went for the Otterbox one on my Xs, and it’s a lot grippier for starters, and hopefully won’t look like crap in a few months.

Pocophone also comes with a fast charger... I’ll stop teasing now :p
8 plus user, just find it funny the Poco is faster in most the videos I have seen, which brings up the point about IOS and the apps being better optimised?? :o:confused:;)

I'm not sure how much I care about the loading times of apps, 0.4 secs Vs 0.7 secs, or 3.2s Vs 4.5s does it even matter?

The amount of people that bang on about phone performance, and for what, so they can browse Bookface, or Instasnaps faster, obviously some smarty pants will say "but I play games on my phone" well good for you, do you need 144FPS on a 60Hz panel or whatever.

Phones have been fast enough for 95% of users for blooming years, what needs to improve is battery life and pricing to get back to some sort of reality.

I’d rather go for one if the “sitting up” wireless chargers so that I can still use faceid or watch YouTube/videos while charging.

Also I’m somewhat confused by this whole fastcharge thing. Loads of wireless chargers call themselves fast charge and then in the details say that it’s only fast for Samsung.

From what I can gather only apple approved items can use 7.5 and even that’s not the fastest as iPhones can go at 10?

Correct.

The cynic in me says it’s a ploy by Apple, so that when they finally release Air Power, it’ll be the sole charger capable of 10w wireless charging.

Noticed in a Youtube video that you don't get HDR on video when using 60 FPS only on 30 FPS which is handy to know.

It is a bit of a mess. For wireless charging, most fast chargers will indeed only charge the iPhones at 5w while the iPhone fast wireless chargers max out at 7.5w though I am also seeing some 10w ones that are supposedly for iPhones too. Most of the 10w ones, certainly the cheaper ones, are indeed only for Samsung etc.

For wired charging it's quite frankly ridiculous. You need to have an Apple C charger and a C to Lightning cable. Total cost of about £70 which obviously isn't worth it. I do already have a C charger (from my MBP) and a USB to C cable but I've not tried wired fast charging yet.

Yep the one I bought yesterday, Belkin does only 7.5 watt so not sure how fast that is but doesn’t really bother me. It’s a nice looking pad and once the more faster and powerful ones come out, I’ll have a look and maybe upgrade to those ones.

Also is there a way to check if the screen is white?? Not sure if it’s my screen or maybe my eyes but I get a yellowish tinge in some websites and also apps etc.

I remember someone saying there is a website where you can check the screen for defects??

Yeh I’ve done that, first thing I did.

Yeh I noticed a blue tinge as well but that’s disappeared now but now I have a slight yellow tinge. Especially on these forums when typing out a reply, the top part of my keyboard is yellowish then the bottom half is white. Rather strange and not sure if it’s meant to be like that or not.

Apps load pretty much instantly on iOS as they do on most android devices.
The difference comes down to preset animation timers on opening and closing apps

Have you got nightshift on?

For those who want belkin wireless charger. If your with O2 you can get £30 off

Do you not find the light annoying at night when sleeping?

Edit: looks like it's a small green led light, that should be ok.

Sounds like a defective screen. Where did you purchase it from?

My XSM had a constant pink hue in the top left and right hand corners - I exchanged the device for another new one and this one is perfect and has a uniform screen.
