******Official Star Citizen / Squadron 42 Thread******

I don't doubt there are lots of stuff to improve, in no shape I would say the game is fine, but in principle, I don't mind doing a bit of extra stuff compared to other games in order to improve the immersion. Sure, that better immersion includes better sounds, better UI, better flight model, AI, etc. I do hope they'll eventually come together perfectly.

The new flight model should drop in soon and then it can be analyzed and each can throw his 2 cents on the matter in order to fine tune it, but until until then these are, for now, concerns (valid, I admit), not really facts - seen as "yeah, in the future will be bad too"! Quite the opposite to what that guy was saying, the ships should feel different in space compared to the atmosphere (more WW 2 like for aerodynamic ships and more like a brick for the rest), so the "old" feel of the ships, in theory and for some of them that are actually build for that, should return.

Time will tell. :)

Yeah, i know it still in development but it was better before in these ways, just leave it as it was until they have it sorted, the AI is pretty bad right now, its not fun. :)

I see ED and SC (and SQ42) as very different games in the same genre. Bit like Colin McRae Rally and F1 are both racing games.. and stuff I like but I'd struggle to compare them except superficially e.g. they have vehicles with 4 wheels you drive.

SC will play hugely differently, already does and as a kickstarter backer of ED I can honestly say I haven't loaded it in a couple of years but I log into the SC alpha/techdemo/technicalmess regularly - so SC simply interests me in a way ED doesn't. Each to their own.

So, realistically 2021/2 then!

The same caveats will apply to the Squadron 42 roadmap as they do to the PU's, but our plan is to be feature and content complete by the end of 2019, with the first 6 months of 2020 for Alpha (balance, optimization, and polish) and then Beta.

They also published their 2012 to 2017 Financials

https://cloudimperiumgames.com/blog/corporate/cfo-comment-2012-2017-financials

The numbers they quote don't make any sense to me, they say its in Thousands USD, so in 2017 the earned about $50k? i don't think so, its in millions not thousands, in 2017 they earned 43,839 + 3,069 + 5,861 Million, not thousand.

Edit, its right, 43,839 * 1,000 = 43.839.000......

I'm using an nVidia card.

So 3.4 is now live. Just been playing in the Aus region and its smooth as silk, so much nicer than the earlier builds. FPS is higher again, QT seems better and overall is fun... Mostly the missions work too! Did a carry contract and actually got directions and got some aUEC from it!

Just to get this right in my head... SQ42 now has a beta release date of Q2 2020? And that is for the Single Player game?

And has there been any news on the multiplayer "persistent world" game?

Beta release may not be everyone, it might be a few weeks public testing phase before full release.

No word on the PU release yet. not before then ^^^^
