That would be interesting, though there were quite a few white walkers in that end scene of this latests episode, but I guess the NK was no where to be seen.

Wouldn't they also have had news/ravens from other castles along the way too - I mean there are certain points they'd have to pass through not to mention the recent arrivals from Last Hearth said they had to pass the NK's army on the way there. I guess he's perfectly capable of flying there himself though.

It would be quite a cluster **** though if he did, I mean every battle he wins he just gets yet more dead for his army, if he wipes out the south and gets that entire population hen they're really screwed. It does almost seem a bit dodgy to have all those infantry out in the open to meet him, unless they secure a decisive victory they're essentially adding yet more numbers to the army of the dead.

Would be cool if Arya gets to kill the NK/Dragon with her new weapon, or maybe Bronn can take down the dragon. Jon Snow having some sword fight with the NK might be a bit too cheesy.

LMFBO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Been there :D

I do struggle to work out what the 3-Eyed Raven's for though. Ok he/it's a kind of 'memory library' for humanity, but what use is storage if its not used for something other than making Jaime squirm? What did the 3ER do in the past except sit under a tree in various incarnations. Or have I missed something and he was instrumental in keeping Winter at bay or something similarly unsung-heroey? That would make sense, I suppose
We've seen Bran inadvertently influence the past (hold the door!), that ability would make him potentially very dangerous! I can see what you mean though, what purpose has the 3 eyed raven actually served in the past?

They seem to be making a point of showing how accurate Arya is, which suggests to me she'll be precisely hitting something, seems obvious, but someones got to kill the thing.

That Ayra sex scene felt really odd*. Excellent episode though, felt like an even stronger part 2 from last week.

*did they CGI her :p?

It would appear she was wearing belt, so the oddness on camera was them CGI the belt away, adding the rest, it was her rather than a body double,
The scene graphically seemed strange in some way.

i'm assuming it's been mentioned in meetings offscreen, because otherwise i'm sure she doesn't even know there's an undead dragon - or has that fact been mentioned, cos i can't recall?

It was mentioned in last week's episode. Near the start. I think Sansa says the walls down and they have a dragon now.

I thought it was Bran?

Odd episode. A little slow and I guess meant to hit us all in the feels before most of them die next week.

So is one theory, Winterfell battle for ep3, then big battle down south to wrap it all up? I don't see it. Surely the final battle has to be against the Night King... which makes me think maybe they do attack Kinds Landing next week...

Oh yes you could be right.

I will be disappointed if there's not some sort of battle with the dead at Kings Landing.

There are a bunch of characters and sub plot still need to be involved like Cerci and the Golden Company army, they need to get wiped out one battle or another, as too are the ships/fleet.

A lot characters still standing and only 4 episodes to go.

Yup, either they all die next week with some retreating (I don’t see that happening) or it is this theory.

Absolutely, but mucking about with time has always been hard to do right, and maybe that's why (to me anyway) the whole 3ER thing has been very unsatisfying. I wanted someone like Littlefinger to have been working for the old 3ER, trying to use knowledge of the past to shape the future. And Bran's time influence trick did make for an epic Hodor explanation, but it opened a can of worms which they seem to have swept under the carpet for good reason... that way lies plotty madness.

While thinking about The Sopranos, in which there's a chance the whole family snuffed it, it did occur to me that the most Game of Thrones solution to this whole business is that the Night King kills everyone in the next episode and there are three episodes of credits. ;-)

Easily sorted. Cersei hasn't set off all that buried wildfire yet has she? It was all over the place IIRC, not just under Baelor's whatsit. NK flies down with a marriage proposal of the blue-eyed kind, converts the Golden Company to white walkers with a few gusts of dragon breath, and she becomes a heroic martyr by taking out them, herself, and the whole city. Shame about the peasants, but Flea Bottom needed fumigating anyway.

So in an effort to simplify the episodes so far,

Ep1: The Prince that was promised.
Ep2: Arya’s boobies.

Is that it?

They are putting all their budget into the last few episodes it seems, I think the last 2 hours have been wasted frankly in moving the plot forward. 2 hours! That’s an entire movie and frankly nothing much happened except some happy reunions. Could probably do all that in 30mins, a single episode max...somehow it stretched to 2 episodes.

Does anyone know what time it goes live on Sky Go? I can't watch it as it airs tonight

Edit: ah, it's already there because of the 2am showing!

Tormund continuing to be the best character :D

With Jon revealing to Dany, I wonder if Dany is going to die so the true Targaryen heir can sit in the throne.

No she has pregnancy plot armour: GRRM hasn't been obsessing about the Targs and writing Targ history books instead of Winds of Winter for nothing. He's all for that Targ restoration. She and Jon will survive Ep3, have some friction about his reveal Ep4, then 'boat baby' will bring them back together for Ep5 or 6.

Could the Night King be a Targaryan? Or even the mad king that Jayme killed?

Just saw someone ask the question on Faceache but it's not something I've heard voiced before...

So, an entertaining couple of episodes, but yeh, a bit slow, with zero action.

Guess that'll happen next episode.

I reckon they’ll melt the throne down in the end. Jon doesn't want to rule. The north wants independence. They’ll just form some kind of council.

I have seen it mentioned here and in the show they say the Targaryans have basically ruled and/or been around forever, so he could well be.

Nights kings more likely stark? And the targaryans took his wierd pattern as their house emblem from dragonstone when they saw the carvings?

Slow 2 episodes like... wonder who dies now. I think winterfell will fall and a lot of character's with it. Cersei will keep to her promise for battle 2 and use the golden company to fight the dead. Not enough episodes two wrap up to opposite battles and if there is it's too rushed; she'll have to end up fighting the dead.

I enjoyed this episode much more than the first. Even though it was all talking like the first it was much more enjoyable due to reunions, new introductions etc and a battle each episode could lead to fatigue, it has certainly peaked my interest and looking forward to the next episode even more.
