AMD Zen 2 (Ryzen 3000) - *** NO COMPETITOR HINTING ***

are the prices from AMD is just speculation?
everything except the 16c part is confirmed prices.

i just applied a bit of speculation to the 16c part to derive what its supposed MSRP would be. so take that bit with a pinch of salt.
but i can't see why AMD would give that part away for free. i await the AMD fanboi cries to begin when they announce that part.

Can I please ask what you need all that power for?

I do a lot of photo editing, generating 1:1 previous after importing a days worth of photos can take 5-10 minutes on my 5820K.

I'm well overdue an upgrade, almost went Threadripper but in the end waited for Zen 2. Threadripper compromised gaming performance for multi threaded performance a little too much.

I dont need it, but itd be convenient and in the grand scheme the cost won't be bad.

aren't you a #moetmedic...you should be awash with cash :p

This event is going to be interesting... super interested to see if they are going to list a higher speed 8 core sku as well.

-edit-

Though after all the other leak information I am going to believe the benchmarks when I see them done independently by multiple people and not before.

Intel seem to be really confident that they are still going to be ahead in real world testing... if that isn't going to push AMD to release a higher clocked chip I don't know what will.

I should certainly imagine you’ll be future proofed for many a year.

Exactly, I've been sat with a 5820K for years. Zen 2 is finally the leap needed to get me to splash out. If I keep this two or three years the extra for 16c32t seems justified.

Almost triple the cores would be a nice leap, with a jump in gaming performance too.

105W for the 16c/32t 3950x is absolutely nuts!

105w is nothing at all for 16 cores to use. Which is why the clock range is so wide on this chip.

There will be several cores stuck at 3.5ghz under load, some at 3.8ghz, some at 4.0ghz, some at 4.2ghz and so forth and only one single core at the advertised 4.7ghz.

It's able to stick to 105w by running probably at least half the cores under 4ghz.

Overclocking is going to be super sweet on this one. We already have leaks of all core 4.7/4.8ghz being achievable. But you absolutely need water because at all core 4.7/4.8ghz, the leaks are saying 280w+ draw. So you will need a water loop to overclock this beast
