I feel like there isnt many people understanding what AMD were actually proving when its actually quite simple.

Nobody in their right mind will use the Slow preset @1080p using 10k bitrate on a single PC stream setup before July 7th.. and if anybody already does this then its an absolute rare case with an expensive Intel HEDT or Threadripper setup.

OBS loves cores!

AMD are showing that those settings can be done now at a lower price than putting together a Streaming PC which usually costs way more.

Its as simple as that, like i said in his YT comments, Steve jumped the gun and should have waited to get the 3900X in his own hands and tested himself with the exact same OBS settings on both.

Gotta remember that neither GN or AMD said which OBS Profile and Tune settings they used, these 2 settings together can cripple a CPU with the better quality presets, and this is how i think the 9900K was crippled in the demo (even though AMD may have used an 'easier on the CPU' Profile and Tune option on the 3900X) .. but then Steve may have done this with the 9900K in his video  .

One more thing, in the demo AMD were showing what the viewer sees, not what OBS looks like.

I actually ran the same settings with my 2700X with only the bitrate lowered to 6000kbps and yes.. it looked terrible with GTA V :D

Geekbench single core scores....
8600K 5694
3800X 5406
3600X 5390

Not exactly mind blowing, although I'll probably still buy a 3700X.

and yet again steves missing the point the test wasnt misleading, he even states the results are repeatable but they didnt try that because reasons, was it a fair test as to how most streamers stream today, no. but as someone who games at 1440p and streams on and off having the extra power to stream at 1440p (or 4k for others) will probably be nice to produce a better quality but hey no one will ever want to move on from 1080p i guess. this video comes across as click bait making outrage out of nothing to try and fill the void until july.

looking forward to seeing 9600k vs 3600x personally. specially at the same price using b450

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £435.47 (includes shipping: £10.50)

$250 - into £197 odd plus VAT leaving at £230

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £439.47 (includes shipping: £10.50)

should prove interesting :D but then everyone will be looking at the 8 and 12 cores which is a shame :(

I'm starting to get curious as to when exactly Zen2 is faster (or actually as good) than Intel during gaming.

Because I'm not sure I can get a 3700X or 3800X for less than a 9700k (which probably overclocks much better).

Mmmmmm, interesting. That's from an Indonesian site, with the 3950x under LN2 and an all core clock.
I know what a 2700x can do under strong phase and at what Vcore and what it does under water as well. I'm beginning to think that AMD's claim of 4.7Ghz boost for the 3950x could well be the all core boost under PBO and not the single core boost.

There'll be some decent coverage of that price bracket as it is the highest volume, well the 3600 is not the X.

I am sure you'll be interested to hear, that competition at that end of the market is going to get weirder too, since from the info I have been given the 2700X is going to be <£199, the 2700 <£159 and the 2600 <£109, with the 2600x <£129, should see the prices from 1st July or maybe a day or two before apparently.

I've no doubt that it will make some very interesting builds for low budgets, <£230 for a decent B450/2600/16GB DDR4 3000MHz, not a very hard sell at all. :)

Interesting people are taking geekbench seriously lately.
It use to be a joke because according to it, Apple A12X processors are better than most Intel ones in laptops.

Just two more weeks until launch, and hopefully proper reviews before then.
