I hope the PS5 digital is £350. That's incredibly good value, hard to pass up if the new cards that offer console killing performance cost £600+

Intel hired Murthy Renduchintala and it looks like Jim Keller may have left because of his politicking, Murthy eventually "left Intel too" executives are never sacked, they always leave or retire, doesn't mean it was a choice.

Exactly.

A director at one of my old firms "left" the company (escorted off the premises by security guards) due to being on the fiddle.

Was never charged or brought to public notice, companies don't like to air their dirty linen if possible.

Yup seen it before - frustrating thing was seeing later down the line another big company bigging up his arrival in the media and talking up what a great job he'd done previously for where I worked amongst other places.

Works for council chief execs too, or so I hear :p There may once have been a chief exec who left with a golden handshake of some few hundred thousand pounds, who may or may not have had any choice in the matter, after what could have been widely regarded as a disastrous tenure at the top. Only to be immediately snapped up by another public body (but perhaps in a different country :p). Although I wouldn't know anything about it.

If the rumor is true then it's hard to see people on mass spending more on gpu.
If that turn out to be true I may just get one at launch and grab a cheap 2070$ instead of going 3000 series. Nvidia really do need to at least price their cards properly this time.

I am in two minds whether to get a new console, previously have had a PS1, 2, Xbox 360 and a PS4.

Plus I find 16:9 a tad constraining after getting used to 21:9 on my PC.

But, if those PS5 prices are correct, I'll be sorely tempted, and will ignore the 3 series (at the current proposed prices) and look at a s/h 2070S.

Do you think they need help with their marketing? Given the recent Avengers branding, looks like I can help there too. Maybe instead of trying to associate with external brands create a brand icon or mascot. It worked for linux right? Something recognisable, that you can make cartoon cute or vicious depending on your need, preferably small, potent and colourful.... such as a bee!

Its often because the story goes deeper, but yes it doesn't look good for a company if they have allowed something bad to happen it effects peoples confidence. The reverse is also true of course where people are victims of bad behaviour and constrained by non-disclosure agreements which can be grossly unfair as its often people needing money to maintain their living in the absence of employment for a period of time. I hope they change the law on that...

No manners?

Navi 23 - 150W = 2080S +-10% perf.
Navi 22 - 225W = 2080Ti ~+15% perf.
Navi 21 - 275W = 2080Ti. ~+40% perf.

If you’re getting a console it may as well be PS5 since the Xbox stuff is likely to be on PC too.

Navi 22 looks interesting if they can beat / match the 3070's speculated $600 price, assuming MLID's latest tweet is correct and the 3070 will match the 2080Ti.

An extra 15% over the 2080Ti would be enough for a good 4K experience, though it depends on their RT implementation, which I think is still pretty much an unknown?
