I was just watching his latest one and I thought the same lol. Basically once again as he has done in the past building that mindset that they are a bit of a joke and the runner up in the race every time. :)

Yeah, its a kind of snobbery.... that's why it gets to me.

Lol :D

No one in this thread buys Nvidia anyway.
What will happen is once amd presents zen4 and Big Dog Navi people will change their opinion again.
Its then all AMD
U w0t m8?

I am the third highest poster in this thread, look at my all AMD sig, guess what I will be buying on the 17th? That’s right you guessed it, a 3080.

******* Linus' latest video was apparently titled something like "Nvidia Just Made Everything Else Obsolete". How do you combat that crap?

If AMD by some fluke beat the RTX3090,it would be "AMD Just Made Everything Else Obsolete",and then if Nvidia releases a 5% faster RTX3095,it would be "Nvidia Just Made Everything Else Obsolete" again! :D

Just a small reminder, here in Romania, buying anything from EMAG (biggest store here) you can return it for 2 months for full instant refund. Other countries i imagine have something similar. So even if you were to buy a 3080 at launch ( in case you're worried about availability ) you could easily return it and get a big navi if it were to be better.
14 days in UK so very different.

Actually that's not far off the truth with him. I'm pretty sure he went through a period where every other day he reviewed his next new favourite monitor!

Sad sad tube click bait, its like search engine optimisation all over again.

I think most people on here are not deluded enough to think AMD can bring out a halo card that blows the 3090 away. Realistically though I think nvidia are scared of something, and from the pricing AND power increase put out the best they could for damage limitation.

AMD could still horlicks it up and as one guy on here put it, might miss an empty goal here.

It aint gonna be worse than a 5700XT though right?

Then theres the Xbox semi-gimped 52 cu apparently better than the 2080Ti?

A full fat 54 cu as a dGPU means near the 3080 territory.

A fuller fat 80 cu monster would actually be 3090 territory...

It was around 2080 performance I thought but that was with an unoptimised version? Which to be fair did not impress me at all because the 40 CU 5700XT is only ~20% slower than a 2080 at 4K. So if the 52 CU Xbox X GPU was only 20% faster then it must have been seriously unoptimised.

Either way, you are correct that whatever they release it will be faster than 5700XT. If it is 72CU or higher coupled with better clocks and the architecture improvements for RDNA2 then I would anticipate around 3080 levels of performance. So if you set your sights at that level of performance then anything else is a bonus.

3080 level would make for a fantastic marketplace stand off between camps!

Head to head first reviews would be awesome if AMD could dump themselves inside NV's timeline

Be great for the industry as a whole and for us as consumers to have that amount of activity
