Why do they have to? Nvidia have more cards to release. Amd might aswell see the entire lineup benched.

People have already committed to nvidia so amd needn't flap too much about sales they aren't going to get anyway.

If people are claiming that 10gb aint enough then them people are likely to be holding out for more anyway.

I dunno why everyone is so desperate for them to show something. AMD are probably just prioritising Cpus at minute anyway. Probably more profit to be made.

Do not presume to debate with he who knows all in any given subject. :p

Yes, I hope they have more than 3080 launch.

I really hope AMD are smart with their marketing this time and use the popularity of Ryzen to offer some kind of incentives for people to buy Zen 3 and RDNA 2 together.

With both products being launched around the same time they have the opportunity to launch a discount scheme for bundle deals :D

AMD hasn't been competitive in the high-end GPU market since the R9 Fury X released more than 5 years ago.

I can assure you that many people want to see GPU performance leadership from AMD now.

It's infinitely interesting to see those new AMD cards - they are rumoured to have some magic cache which will save memory bandwidth.

The CPU market is boring and so predictable; everyone knows that Intel has been conroed by Zen back in 2017. Nothing to see with Zen 3, if you ask me.

It's more important for AMD to get back their GPU reputation back to normal.

I said it before, the problem AMD have with a release this long, 3 moths? After Nvidia is no matter how good they are whose going to buy them? sure some people are waiting, the vast majority of people are making their GPU upgrades now, they are not waiting 3 months.

I think that's unfair when you have to factor in the first wave of buyers will be met with their pre-ordered AIB cards in early November. So wait 2 months for nvidia, or wait 2.5 months for AMD... its not like nvidia had a head start is it! :D

I'm happy with the 3600 for now, looking to AMD again for a better GPU tho...

Same, I would have chosen between the 3070 and 3080 too but that will all depend on whats available come AMD release dates. I also am keeping options open for a PS5 if I am not impressed but even they seem to be struggling with supply now..

Someone posted tweets on the Nvidia thread showing people receiving emails that their 3080 is delayed to January 2021.

Shocking but ho hum.

I don't necessarily see AMD producing something groundbreaking but I hope they offer performance at a good price.

Paying over 650 for a card would be a no from me.

Me too, if I have to spend over £700 for the card I would like to upgrade to then its a PS5 I think just to keep the cost outlay sensible. I shelled out £300 for the vega thinking that was a lot, £650 should be plenty for a step up.

Similar to myself. I bought my Vega 56 at around £300 thinking it was pricey at the time. I would be willing to spend more for it due to using my PC a lot more for gaming over the past year but can't justify much more than double really.
I think I would rather opt for a mid to high end card approx £500 and upgrade a little more often compared to throwing £800 at a card and keeping it a bit longer.

That's the pre-order figures for one card manufactured by one AIB from Amazon in Germany. That Zotac card probably wouldn't have the most popular choice. How many pre-orders would there have been for EVGA, ASUS, MSI and Gigabyte cards if the Zotac card got 20,000.

And that's just from one site in one country. Now add in all the other Online stores and Retails stores in Germany and include every brand of card. How many orders are you looking at? Now expand that out to include more Countries, like the USA, Canada, The UK, China, Denmark, Sweden, France, Spain, Italy etc. etc.

Well, you get the idea. There could have been millions of Pre-orders and all for one make of card from Nvidia, the 3080.

It just shows how big the demand is at the moment for new cards. I wonder was there ever such a demand for $699 card before?
How do you know that other markets you've listed have the same demand?
How do you know that other companies have the same number of pre-orders? For all you know zotac might have had worst stock in germany than other companies.

In the grand scheme of lost sales (which was what the orginal poster was talking about, I don't think AMD has anything to worry about.

I cant see how you would be happy with nvidia knowing how badly this has gone and the potential to be waiting until 2021 to get your hand on a card now? Maybe I dont buy many high priced items, or items that are so sought after.. I would be pretty livid if I had my heart set on a 3080 and hated AMD with a passion.

They'll just get it off Ebay for 2x MSRP. ;)
