Well, on their site it's stated that the codes are "while supply lasts", so they can hide behind that.

The thing is, this has to be done with Ubisoft alongside the deal. Because if users want to play Watch Dogs but their code doesn't work, they'll have to buy the game, so more money for Ubisoft.

I'm more afraid of the fact that between the time we get the codes (via email) and the cards (via parcel) the time to actually activate the codes might expire, so no point in that either.

I would rather Nvidia made a page where we could activate the codes (providing proof that we bought the cards) without the cards being mounted in our systems.

I see its not on their website anymore about the game but I have it in my order dunno if that's changes anything probs not

Just got off the phone with OCuK.

They said the queue position they're configuring will be based on the time order is placed for people who paid by card.

If you paid my Amazon, Finance, etc. then the queue position is based on the time the payment/agreement was approved.

They also said we will be waiting for the queue system for another 2-3 weeks.

Why are they not giving us this information here rather than having random people phoning up to get it?

Also, 2-3 more weeks for official queue? Are they actually trying to get people to cancel to thin out the herd?

I paid by PAYPAL so...

First post here, like someone above. And as above, I've never had a problem with OC before. But the 3080 debacle...

My main beef isn't that stock is low - this was utterly predictable. It's these things:

* OC took my money. I'm £700 down with no product. I genuinely thought I was pre-authorising the purchase, not paying up-front and then waiting. Maybe that's on me for not reading the small print. How long will I wait before cancelling? This is the question, eh. Nobody is holding a gun to my head...

* Lack of information. I appreciate that OC might not have what they deem to be a meaningful update for us, but understand this: 'no update' is a valid update. Tell us if you don't have any news.

* Predictive statistics - it really isn't that hard to provide a system that shows your position in the queue. It also isn't very hard to plug into that predicted restock dates and numbers. As a software developer myself, I also know it's immensely frustrating to be told by a layman that 'it's easy to build x'. But the thing is, OC shouldn't need to build something quickly in response to this situation. It should be in place already.

* Taking pre-orders without a genuine understanding of your own company's purchasing power is disingenuous at best. I fear OC believes it is a bigger player in the market than it really is. I'm concerned that OC has filled its coffers through a slightly cynical approach to pre-order fulfilment. I.e. cash grab. Those Ferraris don't pay for themselves, eh.

I'm not saying OC is any worse than any other company. Sure, I could take my pre-order somewhere else. But then I might have to wait even longer. All I'm asking for is a bit of respect. I just dropped more money than I can really afford into OC's bank account. I deserve better.

Well said!! I couldn't have put it better myself.

I just want to add that I know this unofficial calculator isnt very reliable but I was around 1600 in the queue then I checked 2 days later and was around 1800.... IM GOING THE WRONG WAY!!....OC also have taken my money to hold my queue position for a 3080....but I think I'm being fobbed off!!

It's very telling that they expect many people will still be using the queue system 2-3 weeks from now :D

@OCUK

You don't want us to webnote or phone up asking.
But your last official update was on Thursday 24th.

You guy's should really be communicating on a daily bases with this many customers on back order.
Even if it's to say we have no further news since our last update.
Least then you can't be slated on Trustpilot for not keeping customers informed.

Morning everyone!
First post (be gentle)

Been a OC customer for many years and have never had to come to the forums for anything. Service has always been prompt and perfect.

That being said...having browsed this thread almost constantly since the 19th (don't even ask about my assumed queue position...ASUS TUF non-OC), I'm absolutely staggered.

So many issues, some valid and some less so. But the near silence of customer service IS worrying. I get it...all those calm people saying 'what's the point? You want an update saying 'no stock' and none expected in the near future?'

Well....YES! Any information is better than none! Personally, I'm in no great hurry (as evidenced by my tardy order) and will keep my place in the queue. I'm also running an ancient Giga 970 since before the beginning of time, so I can afford to wait some more.

But some people can't...either through compulsion or simple finances. Telling those people to calm down and either cancel or STFU is counterproductive. Some people are saying that other retailers future stock delivery schedules (released to their customers) are just hopeful.

I disagree.

I would find it absolutely incredible if OC are not aware of a) Stock that is enroute from their suppliers and b) the numbers involved. The alternative is that OC are sitting in their loading bay waiting to see if a truck turns up, and that is more fantastical that some of the posters on here....

So....put the information out there. Not what just came in the door. What you are expecting to come in. No exact numbers required...hell, make an arbitrary small (10-50), medium (50-100) or large (100+) statement for each expected delivery. And if you're really risk averse, put a damn disclaimer on saying 'expected deliveries are subject to shipping issues, pandemics, magnetic fluctuation or rabid weasel attack' :)

No information...and even current 'this is what went out the door today' information is going to continue to wind people up even further. It's not rocket science, and whilst I can think of a couple of scenarios for the radio silence we're experiencing, providing some basic advance information might go a little way to calming things down, reducing the phone calls/webnotes/emails and generally making life better for everyone.

EDIT: And to another poster who just said 'it's just after the weekend'....given how much of an utter cluster**** this launch has been in general, added to the feeling displayed here and the general lack of communication...would it really have hurt to have someone log on to the forum, post a message and then log off. Even a placeholder ' we're aware you guys are about to start eating your firstborn...after the weekend, we will share our planned updates going forward' would have been a smart move. Well, unless you have absolutely no plan going forward and are just winging it....

They probably simply do not know, if they have say 1000 orders for wizzbang 3080 and they are forecasted to get 10 in, if you post that then 900 will cancel and ask for refunds, but O Clockers will have ordered the 900 from wizzbang to fulfill the orders they have in place, they are then stuck with that or trying to cancel part orders, and then the forecasted 10 due to arrive might turn out to be 140...

Seems reasonable, I think from what people were saying a week ago the "desynced" Amazon/Paypal orders canceled themselves out after a day or two and OC didn't have any way to get info on them so the orders "failed". Where as for the credit cards they clearly managed to get the necissary data off braintree to lock the orders back in (hence why a load of us finally got our confirmation emails last Monday).

They also said we will be waiting for the queue system for another 2-3 weeks.

Well, thats going to make this topic fun! Guess that confirms that the dev work is being done by an external company that manages the store for them and is just working to their SLA.

Well that means I'm not getting my card until next year then because while my order went through at 15:05, the payment was approved at 22:25.

I'm gonna cancel my order I think now in that case if my queue position isn't really any good there's no point to hold that money in.

ummm, are you really saying they would be "stuck" with cards.... honestly???

How do you know your payment was approved at 22:45?

In which case those extra cards would sell out in minutes anyway??

Oh my. That took a long time after the button to purchase was undertaken. The following day for me purchasing through Amazon Pay as an example.
