fantastic if true. Bet the 50 OC have just got in don’t have 2 though. Unless, of course, they changed them between the review launch and the public launch. Be interesting to hear from someone who actual has a customer one

What do you mean "they don't have 2". How do you know, at first we all thought it was a newly found issue, but according to EVGA and the likes of ASUS/MSI already having theirs changed over to 4+2 this was already spotted way before mass release of the cards to suppliers. I'd be surprised if they were 5+1.

Haha saw this thought was funny.

Yeah so pre production cards sent out to reviewers and I ages for websites are made well before full production. Like you say evga found the issue and seeing others changed and now some updates images come out and all the delays and lack of stock I think clearly this is why. Just glad they caught on.

absolutely. I posted in a previous post ( one of the many, so I’m not surprised if you missed it ) that its possible that MSI changed the config to 4+2 rather than 5+1 between shipping to reviewers and the public launch. They 100% did have 5+1 because there are lots of reviews on YouTube showing that. If you go in the MSI website right now ( in the UK ) it absolutely still shows 5+1 for the 3080 and 4+2 for the 3090.

Unless MSI spotted this very early I would be amazed if they would have been able to re-tool their production lines and buy in the relevant materials in a matter of days. Plus, don’t forget, its users of the new cards rather than reviewers that are reporting problems. So, although it would be great to know we would be getting a modified card with the 4+2 config I think it is incredibly unlikely. All we can really do is wait a decade or two until they turn up and see what we get.

One last comment, in case I missed the point, you can clearly see the capacitor config on the back of the card. Its clearly visible. That’s how I know, because of what I have seen. The images could, of course, be wrong but that is true of 5+1 images and 4+2 images

Hey guys, just joined the forum to check something - is it 100% confirmed that people will be able to jump across to whatever is in stock and reserve their previous queue place?

If that's the case I might cancel my preorder - tried to buy between 2 & 3pm but the site was down for me the whole time.

Ended up doing a preorder after 9pm when the kids were in bed, I was happy to wait, but if I'm not even going to hold my cr*p position for an ASUS TUF, I might as well throw in the towel and wait for a reference card.

Whats others thoughts? Anyone else in a similar situation?
Yeah I ordered my TUF OC at 10pm on the 17th and although I know that card got busy after about 5pm that day I was still holding onto the fact that I wasn't that late and have seen many people still pre-ordering it even a week later. So wouldn't be entirely happy if people were able to jump infront of me just because they now don't like the card they went for.

Same here, I cancelled Saturday using the provided cancel webform for the MSI G X TRIO after seeing numerous issues in the Nvidia forum with this model with no manual overclocks but my cancel request is yet to be confirmed

I just got mine through. I cancelled over 7 days ago, both through the form and through webnotes.
