Fingers crossedWe are batch buddies!

Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

Most of UK Distance Selling Regulations is based around at time of purchase that a contract is agreed upon, on both sides, with a ETA given clearly and delivered within 30 days.
Rather than flood post with key points (as they can all be argued differently at moment due to lack of clarity) here is a basic link - https://www.gov.uk/online-and-distance-selling-for-businesses
Key points from our perspective is if OC is indeed changing the queue, further delaying our orders, without warning or notice, that is easily a breach. Not only that but can be considered unfair favouritism of sales.
Minor things to nitpick:
You then got these ontop - https://www.gov.uk/online-and-distance-selling-for-businesses/online-selling
- delivery arrangements, costs and how long goods will take to arrive.
- conditions for money given as a deposit or financial guarantees. - Should include code as advertised at point of purchase. I ain't paid £50 over original advertised price to then lose another £50 game code on top.
- deliver the goods within 30 days, unless you’ve agreed otherwise with the customer - Could be argued for the codes.
I aint a lawyer, but have dealt similar cases in past. IT all depends on how technical you want to dive, but short answer is, if they are knowingly allowing queue jumping, then yeh...
Yes but you could be less due to the math / cancellations so maybe 600? Who knows.
Hey sorry if this is not the right place to ask but I just tried the unofficial queue calculator. It says queue number: 1065 for the Asus Tuf (non oc). Does this mean there are over 1,000 orders before me for the same card?
Still waiting on overclockers refunding me. I am in no rush. How long did it take for you to get your money back?
I will try and reply once i have my refund if i remember, as ive literally just cancelled before. How long did it take for you to get your money back?
Yes and this is the sad part of not having an official queue calculator and them still accepting pre-orders. Anyone ordering now could have 2000 people in front of them waiting for a card.
PayPal worked instantly for meThe issue with payments.
1. Amazon - you click pay with Amazon which send a message to Amazon payment servers which then card details with your bank or credit card company. This all takes time and after which you could be declined so you order won't be paid for until Amazon says fund are good.
2. PayPal is the same.
3. Finance - you have to apply and then wait for the yes or no this takes time and order cannot be confirmed until you get a yes.
4. Debit card or credit card - request to bank straight yes or no answer takes no time at all which means order get placed faster.
So they could actually have to wait for payment confirmation until the approve your order etc then you would go by the time in your email.
PayPal best way if you use it all the time.PayPal worked instantly for me
ye i would not expect urs b4 december mate thats realityHey sorry if this is not the right place to ask but I just tried the unofficial queue calculator. It says queue number: 1065 for the Asus Tuf (non oc). Does this mean there are over 1,000 orders before me for the same card?
Yup everyone got email with cancellation link next day basically. You dont like situation you could ahve cancelled next day but people rather come and moan on forums like it will change ANYTHINGDon't forget though that your remedy in the event of a failure on the part of the retailer is to either agree a new delivery date, or consider the contract cancelled and receive a refund.
OCUK are not denying anyone a refund and have created a simple system specifically for refunds for these cards, so not sure what you are looking to use "The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013" for in this case (this replaced the original DSR)... ?
same thing paypal paymentPayPal worked instantly for me
Taking all the money upfront for a preorder... Totally cool with that.If it take 6 months, it takes 6 months.
I provide care now for a family members and have had to leave my tech role behind. I dont receive any money and this year was my 50th, In fact Sept 1st, due to lockdown people put funds into a collection and the card is a present from all my friends. I didn't have the money to start with so wont notice it gone anyway. (my partner earns enough for me to devote the time to care)
Back in 2013 I wanted to upgrade my Yamaha keyboard. I saw the Tyros 5 being launched and had the funds available at the time. The demand was high and I had to wait 8 week for the delivery from Japan. That was just under £4000 and the money was taken upfront.
That only proves the point that coming up with official queue position is super easy and simple...Sorry for the mass quoting, but I feel it may be relevant to all the above. I asked in the customer support forum the following:
"
I have just seen on the relevant thread that positions are assigned not based on when orders are placed, and payment is held/started, but when the payment is actually fully processed. For e.g that in my case for order
Order Number: [ SNIP ]
Date ordered: 17/09/2020 15:10:23
Payment Method: Amazon_Payments
Shipping Method: DPD Two Day
that my position would not be based on the 15:10:23 on the 17th, which is when Amazon said the transaction had started, but rather 00:31 on the 18th when amazon said the transaction had completed. Can you please confirm this?"
and received the following response:
"Q positions are based upon date/time ordered - your position will be based off the following: Date ordered: 17/09/2020 15:10:23 "
So it looks like it's when the payment is started, not when it is completed. Hope it puts your minds at ease!
Ouch.. At least my shipping was free, I also opted to collect from the store (30 mile away) as did'nt trust DPD not to drop it.Shipping was air freight and £340 however. I think the key thing is communication. People don't mind waiting, if they have some decent idea of a likely when.
