I keep remembering when I ordered a Juno P6, pretty much 20 years ago* (god I feel old), and it took something like 6 weeks longer than expected despite having been made and in transit. We got this under control. Just gotta keep these noobs calm. My guess is half of them weren't born when I was first salivating over that newly released gpu 20 year or more back.
IIRC the ship it was on got delayed by a couple of hurricanes/typhoons, which meant it arrived late at it's first port, which meant it missed it's initial offloading slot, which meant it was even later moving to the next port and as it was not a direct shipment every delay added up.
I think the final delay was Customs running slow or something as I remember having several orders shipped from the US by USPS ASAL that took weeks longer than usual (and I could see when they entered customs clearance).
International shipping under the best conditions can be a headache with delays caused by anything from bad weather, to customs or simply missing your booked slot on a transport and having to wait for a new one.
