*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

We got this under control. Just gotta keep these noobs calm. My guess is half of them weren't born when I was first salivating over that newly released gpu 20 year or more back.
I keep remembering when I ordered a Juno P6, pretty much 20 years ago* (god I feel old), and it took something like 6 weeks longer than expected despite having been made and in transit.

IIRC the ship it was on got delayed by a couple of hurricanes/typhoons, which meant it arrived late at it's first port, which meant it missed it's initial offloading slot, which meant it was even later moving to the next port and as it was not a direct shipment every delay added up.
I think the final delay was Customs running slow or something as I remember having several orders shipped from the US by USPS ASAL that took weeks longer than usual (and I could see when they entered customs clearance).

International shipping under the best conditions can be a headache with delays caused by anything from bad weather, to customs or simply missing your booked slot on a transport and having to wait for a new one.

*I just found a copy of a description/partial review I did dated November 2000 in my documents.

I cannot resist a feeling that when Gibbo says they expect some cards he means that Caseking expect them...and then we might get some if any left, that's why he don't tell us numbers or any details.
If Gibbo says OCUK are expecting them, he'll mean exactly that.

He doesn't mince his words.

Overclockers are so **** am feed up with them get such small stock in ! The second a competitor gets the aorus RTX 3080 master in I will be getting it from them ! Am definitely not getting from Overclockers ever again !
That seems to be a running theme in this thread. 3080 orders must run somewhere in the 7/8k cards. That's a lot of peeved customers that will likely spend with the competition next time.
I'm not after a love letter but the lack of personal correspondence is shocking.
The updates we do get from gibbo may aswell be written on the o.c. toilet wall for all the help they are.

This entire situation is conditioning so many of us to take a different approach next time. This memory of how its been handled and how we've been treated will be engrained in all of us forever. We'll tell our children about this and our grandchildren and our grandchildrens children. Haha.

Stupidly, People's money is in OCUK bank account. Yet they don't even manage to get a decent handful of cards. 20, 30, 50 cards at best... some of which end up with their pre-build systems. Even though they hold people's money... they are disgraceful.

OCUK patrons were expecting their day 1 orders to be in their hands by now.

Gibbo's expectations don't change the possibility that other things might come in to play, like Casekings and/or their Distributors not allocating enough stock to meet said expectations.

I definetly don't think ocuk should continue to to take pre orders and get the customers by saying they are in the best position to get the stock. Not when you see competitors clearly getting more stock regularly.

100% mate, they are literally sucking people's money. They get the money but they can't even get enough stock... trash service. I know it isn't totally OCUK fault about the limited stock tho, but the fact that they charge first and then go **** yourself policy is stupid.

The main issue here is the lack of information provided to the customers right now. Some people been sitting on forums, twitter etc. to gain even a grain of information regarding their cards. I heard nothing about EVGA cards, and I've ordered the card on the same day they released 3080s...

^^Not only this fact^^

But not even so much as an apology in all these posts here, nothing! It is rather disgraceful indeed. And to still be taking pre-orders?, well...says it all really, don't it?

Every single seller has already sold a few. Don't know about OCUK super store... most cards have been showing in the store but 0 stock since launch... ;/

I think you hit the nail on the head, im not ****** off currently and i will wait for my card but the lack of information is just infuriating and gets worse as each day goes on. It only needs to be "no update today" or "we are not getting the stock we have asked for due to whatever reason"

Of course, one has to factor in, things are going to slow down at this time of year, aka approaching year end, Xmas etc, under 'normal' circumstances. Unfortunately, we now have the National Lock-down on top of that, plus the dreadful back-log that OCUK have created for themselves, so, all in all, outlook is pretty bleak for those waiting I'd say.

Same scenario is going to happen when AMD release their GPU's, and also in 3 days time, when the 5000 series CPU's are opened up for scalping. It will be no different in this 'greed' ridden society ;)
