In a few mins you will have a chance to grab a 6800 or 3060Ti

using a 2560x1440 monitor and a 3600XT all core static overclock at 4.45 ghz at 1.29v, 4 x 8gb 8 pack edition 3200 cl14, at ultra settings (RT OFF as CP2077 hasnt activated this feature yet for the rx6800's yet) for cp2077 i get:
about 37 fps on a red devil 5700XT
about 60 fps on a rx6800
confirmed using both the adrenaline overlay and FRAPS log. From the reviews that I have seen the rx6800 shines at 4k (ie. virtually no performance drop from the 1440res), this is why I bought a rx6800 from a scalper for (my daughter currently has a 4k and 1080 panel, has CP2077, and only has a veag56).

It's not nonsense. I'm struggling to get into the game. I grow up on Half Life so expected some more emotional involement. The visuals are the best thing about it. I'm going to get my £50 back before I hit two hours (Epic store).

Of course it is, your problem is you don't like the game, that doesn't mean it's a waste of time without RT. The fact you're getting your money back after 2 hours proves my point perfectly.

Well if you grew up with half-life, I'm not sure what you're talking about emotional involvement for... unless your a scientist and work for black mesa  doesn't get much more far fetched.

I know, hence my question. CyberPunk 2077 without ray tracing is pointless.

Bwhahaha, it still looks stunning without tbh, I'm sure it would look better with, but to say its pointless without is just hilarious :D

Hmm, I'm running a 3600x with a 6800 @ 1440p and have had to turn quite a few settings down to high or even medium to maintain 60fps, wonder if my cpu is slowing it down? (although there shouldn't really be much in it vs the XT)

do you have a ultra wide 1440? I also have a 360mm ekwb cooling on my overclocked xt. The XT can overclock higher than the X but I wouldn't have thought that it would make that much difference (ie. a 10% increase in clock speed may give up to say 3% more fps). I also have 32gb of samsung B die in dual channel and dual rank mode (ie. 4 sticks of single rank) which may also help a fraction.

My monitor is 1440p ultrawide, was getting drops to ~30s at ultra settings, got it on my TV at 1440p and is around 50 at ultra

I only have 16gb 3600mhz, so less, but a little faster? Wouldn't have thought would make much difference though

16GB ram is loads, The game itself uses under 10GB no matter what settings you have.

RAM speed is complicated as it depended on speed, timings and rank but the difference is not worth worrying about imo.

Ultra wide 1440 has more pixels than my 2560 x 1440 and so yours is expected to be a bit less fps.

it sounds that your TV doesn't support native 1440p and is probably downscaling to 1080p, found out recently that's the case with my LG C8 oled :( so I can either play at 1080 120hz max or 4K 60hz

was an awful lot of 3060tis in stock at a certain competitor not so long ago - hopefully OCUK getting some in this week too?
