Got my series X today, nice machine so far! Anyone had any issues installing games? I’m trying to reinstall GTAV but it just won’t get past 2gb and then stops.

I also can’t get my Bose headset working with the controller? I get sound fine but can’t get the mic working.

Is the Series S really more powerful than a Xbox One X though? Does the new CPU make up for the GPU downgrade?

It is a yes and no.

Kills it on i/o performance.

For rendering capability the xbox one edges it mostly due to have more vram for better textures, I think the rasterisation rate is close to each other.

For me personally things like quicker game load times and more stable frame rates are more impactful improvements, however if texture quality is your thing than the xbox one may be the better unit.

The mic built in to the headphones? It doesn't work via cable IIRC. You need something like this:

NB: Careful when shopping for these; you need a 2.5mm plug on the headphone end for Bose.

Thanks for the reply. They worked in my old Xbox one with a chat adapter on the bottom as the controller didn’t have a headphone port. It’s just a standard 3.5 jack for steep and mic so I don’t see why it wouldn’t work?

Seems a bit like eternal darkness if you remember that which was one of the GameCubes finest titles
I have heard it referenced many times on gaming forums but never played it or owned a gameCube. N64 and titles of that of era was my only Nintendo venture. Really enjoying the atmosphere of The Medium thus far.

So glad I choose the series x and PS5 route this time. Don't waste all my time playing with graphics settings like the PC side of this forum lol. Actually get through a lot of games now.

Think I am the opposite.

I am really having 2nd thoughts about whether it is worth having my Series X. I didn't intend to after buying it, but one thing led to another and I upgraded my PC (3080) as well as picking up a PS5.

Really thinking about selling the SX as I am not sure there are any benefits at this stage over the PC and I should be able to recoup the cost.

In your situation the SX is indeed kinda pointless!

I think it does as when I plugged in from an HD TV to a 4k it asked if I wanted to move to 4k settings
