Thanks Participant, I'm really pleased with how thinks are going.
Density has improved, to be honest I don't even think about it anymore.
I need to get to the barbers when they open back up as it needs a tidy up.

I took this December 2019

And a couple today.

Be curious to see @Participant results, as seem to have similar hairline with my crown being worse though.

Not sure that'll happen, just had an email response to an enquiry I submitted saying I have lots of miniaturised hairs, so go and take finasteride for 6-12 months then get back in touch!

They looked at this pic of my beautiful scalp and said I'm still at the stage where the hairs are miniaturised and present, albeit very thin and colourless, rather than the follicles being completely dead, and said I should get good results from min and fin and try those first:

Dutasteride will sort you out much better.

That's quite nuclear isn't it? I think I'll see how well I respond to fin first.

Chipperhead tell me if you'd rather I kept all this out of your thread; just realised it might seem like I'm highjacking it!

I've been on Dutas since I was 28, im 38 and my hair is not going anywhere. No side effects for me. My hair looks the same as 28. My brother is almost bald now and he's 41.

Wow that is a pretty effective optical illusion, really looks like hair on the top and only the very front looks atificial! That guy has really lost a lot of hair though.

It's quite the result considering what he started out with, though it only lasts a while and if it rains your head gets a nice dye job with the particles breaking down into gravy stains.

Are the sides that bad lmao?
I was considering looking into it.

Been using Min for the past 6 months but the liquid makes my scalp flakey. I’ve been inconsistent past few months, feel like there was some early growth but plateaued which won’t be helped by my inconsistency.
In addition to be stressed out a lot over the past year or so especially.

Ran out of a few days and thinking whether to repurchase and give it another go for 6 months or even if it just maintaining what’s left of my hair.
Was looking at fin last week

Hairlines receded over the years and it’s thinning at the front and middle.

FUE surgery is your only real and permanent (or as close as it gets) option if you want that hair back in a meaningful way, as opposed to just maintaining/slowing the loss.

It was noticeable when I tried it, a colleague said the same. Didn't do anything I could see for the hair either!

I took the clippers to my head 5+ years ago and never looked back, easy life

Sadly, the quality of places that do them is very mixed. You often pay for what you get.

Hey guys. It's now been 9 months since I had my HT and I am ready to share my results, as it has now reached a significant proportion (I estimate 70-80% or so) of the final product.

What I will do is post the before and after shots of each angle of my head. Forgive the "after photos" of not being great quality, was taken with my phone cam with is now a couple of years old.

Also bear in mind for the "before" photos that I hadn't had a haircut in a while in preparation for the surgery.

Here we go, all nicely ordered for you...

Front Before:

Hairline had receded by 1cm or so.



Front Implant Area:

Here you can see the main areas drawn where the implants were added to lower and thicken the hairline.



Front After:

Hairline, and hair, now look lower and thicker yet very natural. Taken yesterday, straight from the phone with no editing. While I may of course be biased, I would say that looks pretty damn good and takes very little effort to style, with just a bit of a blow dry then a small amount of Tigi Bed Head which washes out easily.



Top Before:

You can see hair was thinning from top back to top middle and was getting thin enough to see the scalp.



Top Implant Area:

Here you can see the main areas drawn where the implants were added.



Top After:

Hair is now much fuller and thicker and you can't see the scalp.



Back Before:

This was the weakest area, with lots of scalp visible and hair had to be grown longer to cover it.



Back Implant Area:

Here you can see the main areas drawn where the implants were added to thicken the weakest area at the top back.



Back After:

Much fuller and thicker. Still has a small spot on my crown where there is no hair but I'm told this couldn't be helped.

So, what do I think so far? It is safe to say that I am happy, nay delighted, that I had this surgery before my hair loss got too bad or noticeable. I now have hair that is not only as full and thick as 10 or even more years ago, but ironically now that the hairs are thicker, they lay better on my head and I can do better styles than I did before, achieving that wavy look with very little management or hair product.

Absolutely no-one, other than those few I have specifically told, knows or can tell that I have had FUE surgery and I now get a lot of unsolicited compliments on my hair, either that it is still full for my age (which makes me smile inside) or that it just looks good and suave.

The most important thing when doing something like this is:

1. Do it for yourself and no-one else. Don't go around telling people (in real-life of course) that don't need to know.

2. Pay no attention to naysayers trying to drag you down for doing something like this, because their opinion ultimately means nothing and most talk complete ignorant BS anyway.

3 You get what you pay for; choose a good surgeon in an established practise with lots of positive feedback, even if it costs a little more. Preferably as local as possible that travelling there for checkups etc is not a big effort.

Along with laser eye surgery, this ranks as one of the best "quality of life" choices I have ever made and I do not regret it for a second and I am very much looking forward to seeing my 100% results at the end of the year.

Exactly one year ago I went to Turkey for my transplant so I think I've achieved my maximum results now.
I'm really pleased with the results and can't recommend it enough for others thinking of going. Just make sure you do plenty of research.

Thanks dude, yours looks good too, and I agree 100% that it makes you look younger, because it essentially 'resets' your hair thickness to a decade or more ago. The improvement is dramatic, as is the effect on your confidence.

Thanks guys. I did it at a well-known clinic local to me in a non-EU country and it certainly was not 'cheap' at 6.3k GBP (converted from my local currency). However, I think that the results speak for themselves. I think if I was based in the UK and lived within travelling distance of London then that is where I would be looking, as a lot of good clinics are there.

Richdog do you happen to know which UK clinics are recommended for temples/frontal hair line. I have mentioned in this thread in the past i'm looking to get mine done. For front work Dr Bissanga seems to be recommended but he's in Belgium and i don't fancy flying back and forth should any issues arise.
