Make sure you scroll past the Ultra HD,HD, SD section to the PC resolutions in order to be able to select 120 Hz. Might need to make sure the HDMI port on the CX itself has HDMI Ultra HD Deep Colour turned on - Picture/Additional Settings.

Even 42" is massively oversized for desk/up-close usage.Think that’s written it off for me as a desktop... still flirting with it for TV purposes!!
Yup it’s an utter pig - went with a Samsung for now: https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/posts/34725172/Even 42" is massively oversized for desk/up-close usage.
I'm totally feeling your pain btw as you appear to be mirroring my own agony trying to find a decent monitor![]()
Does seem like a nice monitor, but I can't live with that 1000R curve. Some curve I can live with, but most curved panels are 1800R or even 3800R.Yup it’s an utter pig - went with a Samsung for now: https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/posts/34725172/
No smearing at all as far as I can tell (the G7 and G9 seem to be immune to it) so could be one for your shortlist.

I think some sort of curve at these sizes is necessary for a VA panel to fight colour shift.Does seem like a nice monitor, but I can't live with that 1000R curve. Some curve I can live with, but most curved panels are 1800R or even 3800R.
Have read some really interesting threads about problems that glasses wearers can have with aggressively curved screens, too. Like persistent vision distortion, headaches, and all that jazz. I don't like the curve in pictures, and the icing on the cake of being a glasses wearer, well I think I'll give it a miss.
Otherwise it's a beauty of a screen, by all accounts. Just that damned 1000R curve..
The 55" version of this is now £1,100 from reputable good warranty stores - at that point it's simply too good to pass up, so I bought one, woo!
Why do people justify the word 'massively' when it come to a TV size for gaming on!Even 42" is massively oversized for desk/up-close usage.
Welcome to the club
The PQ is amazing though. You must be mad to buy this LG monitor.
Its too big and too expensive
The PQ is amazing though.
The people who can afford it, can. I think it's also a compromise though - probably every one of those 48" users who are using it as a monitor not a TV, would have preferred 42 or even smaller.I know it will be for sure but can we afford at this price point?
