Doesn't matter whether he got the ball first, this isn't 1980. Over the top of the ball, dangerous, reckless, endangering an opponent. All of the above.

it was a cowards challenge, then he rolls around on the deck afterwards like he's injured. Funny, because everyone wants to bark on about Sterling when the Italians are at the top of the food chain when it comes to cheating.

"A cowards challenge" - Not sure I've that one before. Should he have slide in also then?

Everyone was moaning at Sterling because of the UK press moaning at Italy in the semi against Spain - that's why.

Let's not get too focussed on this one point, Italy deserved to win it and they did.

100% they deserved it, we deserved nothing I've said as much in this thread.

Hard to deny that when we barely saw any of the ball after the 3rd minute, bar extra time when we played it around in front of their entire team.

Why wasn't it a penalty at 1-0 for the foul on sterling/kane in about the 50 something minute?

Didn't even VAR it
Because they weren't interested in helping England. We had our luck in the semi and there was presumably an agreement not to give us a hand in the final. Hence the soft touch from the ref to those 2nd half fouls from italy etc. But it doesn't change the point that we, or rather our tactics, weren't good enough to win it. If we had been the rest wouldn't matter.

For me it's a familiar feeling, Man Utd usually win in spite of the manager, not because of him. Really makes football hard work a lot of the time. :(

Deary me. 6 games at home and 60k fans but yea sure, there was an agreement.

Denmark without by far their best player and a team ranked lower then the USA are "easy" games.
Rubbish, that's is totally unfair on Denmark. They're a good side and well drilled. One of the best keepers in the world etc. He kept them in that match at times, just like he does for Leicester.

Correct. A single shot on target and playing so defensively. Credit to Southgate for getting England to the final but unless we press opponents we're never going to win. My mrs who knows nothing about football kept asking me why Kane was playing in the middle of the pitch.

Well played Italy.

The violence and racist abuse afterwards makes me feel ashamed to be English.

Did anyone notice the italians constantly in the refs ear 2nd half? Chiesa came back on the pitch just to chat to the ref before his subbing. Bonucci (i think) also did it a few times. I'd love to know what was being said in those moments.

Was a clear pen to me and at 2-0 it was in the bag I feel.

Its the hope that kills you.

Trying to let it go, its just a game of football and there is absolutely nothing I can do to change the outcome, but work is tough today :(
